Singer and actor Lee Junho (35) revealed that he lost 16kg for a project.

He also shared an anecdote, saying, "I lost 16kg for the role," and explained, "I lived by blocking sunlight to portray a lonely character who experienced an accident." Known as the ultimate self-management expert, Lee Junho revealed on a variety show that he lost 16kg to make a comeback after his military discharge, and he shared his secret: "I ate a lot of chicken breast to minimize muscle loss." He also mentioned that he had previously lost weight by eating only chicken breast and sweet potatoes for a year. According to a study by the McMaster University research team in Canada, consuming about 20-30g of protein 45 minutes after exercise resulted in the highest muscle synthesis. When eating chicken breast, adding chili seasoning or sprinkling chili peppers can enhance the dieting effect. This increases calorie expenditure while reducing hunger. The capsaicin component in chili peppers stimulates the body to produce catecholamines, which raise body temperature and induce sweating. It helps dilate and constrict blood vessels, promoting smooth blood circulation and activating energy metabolism.

Sweet potato = Sweet potatoes are low in calories and provide a feeling of fullness. They are also rich in dietary fiber, which helps prevent constipation. However, the glycemic index varies depending on the cooking method, so caution is needed. Raw and boiled sweet potatoes have a low glycemic index of about 50, while baked sweet potatoes have a glycemic index twice as high. A low glycemic index helps slow digestion in the body and prevents overeating. When blood sugar rises quickly, blood glucose is converted into fat and stored in the body. Therefore, if weight loss is the goal, it is better not to eat baked sweet potatoes.

Meanwhile, if you go on an extremely restrictive diet like Junho Lee, a yo-yo effect can occur when you return to your original eating habits. Once the number of fat cells increases, they only grow larger or shrink, but their number does not decrease. Even if the size of fat cells decreases through dieting, each fat cell secretes appetite hormones. If you overeat as a reward for finishing your diet and fat increases again, a vicious cycle repeats, and a yo-yo effect is inevitable.
