커피가 좋다는 말이 있고 또 안좋다는 말도 있고 전문가 들도 상당수 의견이 팽팽히 갈리는게 커피인데 무엇보다 적당히가 답이지 안나 생각합니다. ^^
A study has shown that people who drink two to three cups of coffee a day have a lower risk of developing multiple cardiometabolic diseases compared to those who drink less than one cup. Cardiometabolic multimorbidity refers to the simultaneous occurrence of two or more metabolic diseases such as coronary artery disease, stroke, and diabetes.
A research team from Soochow University School of Medicine in China analyzed data from the UK Biobank involving 360,406 adults. Participants were categorized into two groups: those who consumed two to three cups of coffee per day (caffeine 200-300mg) and those who consumed less than one cup of coffee per day (caffeine 100mg or less).
According to the analysis, people who drink two to three cups of coffee a day have a 48% lower risk of developing metabolic diseases compared to those who drink less than one cup a day.
The research team analyzed that approximately 80 metabolites produced during the metabolism of coffee in the body improved cardiac metabolic function and reduced the risk of disease development. It is also explained that the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of polyphenols contained in coffee had a positive impact on metabolic health.
A recent domestic study also announced that coffee helps prevent metabolic syndrome. Professor Juyoon Je of the Department of Food and Nutrition at Kyunghee University and her team analyzed the correlation between coffee consumption and metabolic syndrome in 14,631 adults who participated in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2016 to 2021. As a result, women who drank two to three cups of black coffee a day had a 34% lower risk of developing metabolic syndrome compared to women who did not. The research team analyzed that coffee positively affects blood HDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
However, if you are sensitive to caffeine, you should refrain from consuming coffee. If you experience symptoms of caffeine side effects such as ▲heart palpitations ▲nervousness ▲muscle tremors ▲headache ▲rapid heartbeat after drinking coffee, it is advisable not to drink coffee. Even if no caffeine side effects appear, it is not recommended to consume more than the advised amount of caffeine. The Korea Food & Drug Administration recommends a daily caffeine intake limit of 400mg for adults.
It is also not advisable to interpret coffee as the only means to improve heart metabolism. Dr. Park, who led the research, said, "While this study confirmed the metabolic health benefits of coffee, it has limitations as an observational study, so further research is needed," and added, "In addition to coffee consumption, maintaining a healthy metabolism requires regular exercise, quality sleep, and avoiding smoking and alcohol."
