Sharing my experience of treatment for acute myocardial infarction symptoms
A few years ago, my husband was hospitalized due to an acute myocardial infarction.
I kept saying my chest still hurts.
Neither my spouse nor I ever thought about having a heart attack.
And my husband has been suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease for a long time.
They say they know their own illness but don't plan to go to a big hospital.
They just said they would go to the neighborhood hospital they used to visit frequently.
However, as the symptoms gradually worsened and breathing became a bit difficult,
I insisted and went to a nearby hospital.
Seeing the symptoms, I was surprised and was told to go to a large hospital immediately, and they wrote a medical certificate for me.
I went to a university hospital for a test and was diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction.
My spouse and I, who were truly ignorant of medicine and complacent.
Eventually, I was admitted immediately and inserted two stents.
If it had come in more acutely, a terrible situation like the ones seen in the news could have occurred.
I didn't have any serious chronic illnesses, so I think I trusted my health even more.
Upon later discovering symptoms of a myocardial infarction, I notice complaints of chest pain or a feeling of tightness.
My chest hurts. I can't digest my food. I have a burning sensation in my stomach, among other symptoms, which my husband kept mentioning.
In some cases, before complaining of chest pain, sudden fainting or cardiac arrest may occur.
There are cases where people are taken to the emergency room, and it was really a close call.
The procedure finished sooner than expected, and I stayed in the emergency room for one day after the procedure before moving up to the general ward.
He showed a quick recovery after the procedure and was discharged without any major issues.
After being hospitalized for four days and then discharged, I was so exhausted that I lost a lot of weight.
Diabetes has also been diagnosed, and I am regularly visiting the hospital for check-ups and receiving prescriptions.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The risk factors that can easily induce situations like myocardial infarction are as follows.
1) Elderly
2) Smoking
3) Hypertension: When blood pressure is ≥ 140/90 mmHg or when taking antihypertensive medication
4) Diabetes mellitus
5) Family history: If a male sibling or parent under 55 years old, or a female sibling or parent under 65 years old, has experienced ischemic heart disease.
6) Other factors such as obesity and lack of exercise
--------------------------------------------------------------
Looking into it, my husband can be considered elderly as he is in his late 50s.
Smoking. It's very serious.
Blood pressure is normal, but there is diabetes, obesity, and severe lack of exercise.
It almost all applies to risk factors for myocardial infarction.
Nevertheless, I reflect on the health issues I carelessly neglected.
I need to take good care of him from the side so that he doesn't get more sick and can stay healthy.
Diet management, smoking cessation, and exercise are particularly necessary after stent placement due to a myocardial infarction.
To my husband who has gone through a difficult time with a heart attack but still hasn't quit smoking
I need to instill the courage to quit smoking once again.
I hope that my spouse and I can live together healthily and happily for a long time, with black hair and dark roots.
Let's stay strong, honey~~~
