Is there something more effective than foot baths when blood circulation is poor due to cold extremities?

Many people are suffering from cold extremities during the winter season, right?

Since I was young, my feet have always been cold, so sleep socks were an essential item for me.

I've tried various efforts, including hot packs and foot baths, really putting in a lot of effortㅠㅠ

I happened to come across information that the "Gaktang method" is effective for cold hands and feet, so I wanted to share it haha

What is the method of decoction?

Gak-tang method involves soaking only the lower leg below the knees in warm water, making it more effective than foot baths in warming a larger area and promoting blood circulation.

 

 

The efficacy of the decoction method

  • Improving blood circulation: Warming the entire leg helps promote overall blood flow, aiding in the relief of cold extremities.

  • Fatigue recovery: Relaxes tired leg muscles throughout the day to relieve fatigue.

  • Stress relief: Soaking in warm water is effective in relaxing the mind and body and reducing stress.

 

Method of administering the herbal decoction

  1. Prepare water: Fill a basin or bathtub with warm water at about 40-42°C, enough to cover below the knees.

  2. Soaking: Submerge the legs in water and keep them submerged for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  3. Maintaining water temperature: Add a little warm water gradually to keep the water from cooling down.

  4. Finish: After some time, take out the leg, gently wipe it, and apply moisturizer to protect the skin.

 

Precautions

  • Water temperature control: Maintain an appropriate temperature, as water that is too hot can irritate the skin.

  • Time management: Avoid soaking in hot water for too long, as it can cause fatigue; stick to the appropriate duration.

  • Health status check: Those with diabetes or blood circulation issues should consult a specialist before undergoing the herbal bath treatment.

    저도 수족냉증 심한데 본문 속 각탕법까지 아니지만 저도 비슷한 방법으로 발을 따뜻하게 해주고 있어요. 뜨거운 물로 발등까지만 발을 자주 씻는데 확실히 효과 있는 것 같아요. 일단 발이 차면 발을 물리적으로 따뜻하게 해 주는 게 제일 좋은 것 같더라구요.
