Actress Shin Ae-ra (55) revealed her secret to good health.

Recently, a YouTube channel called 'Shin-Ae Life' uploaded a video titled "My husband and I eat tomato soup and breakfast items every morning, and subscribers also eat together and stay healthy." In the video, Shin-Ae said that she eats vegetable soup with her husband every morning. She explained, "All you need are tomatoes, carrots, onions, and garlic."

 

Shinae said, "As I get older, I become more interested in my health," and "I also feel my stamina declining, so I think I need to pay more attention to my health." She added, "I used to like meat and carbohydrates, but these days I try to eat more vegetables," and "I make an effort to include protein in every meal and also eat a lot of oatmeal for breakfast."

Low-calorie vegetable soup rich in antioxidants

 

The vegetable soup that Shin Ae-ra eats is low in calories, helping with weight control, and can also provide benefits such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It contains a variety of vegetables rich in dietary fiber, which can help you feel full for a longer time. It is also good for improving gut health.

When examined individually, tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant. Lycopene inhibits reactive oxygen species, which are the main cause of cell aging, thereby preventing oxidation. As a result, it helps lower inflammation levels in the body, prevent cancer, and boost immunity.

When eaten raw, the absorption rate of beta-carotene in the body is about 10%, but when cooked, it increases to 20-30%, and when stir-fried in oil, it exceeds 60%. Carrots are rich in dietary fiber and contain only about 4.7g of sugars, so they can be eaten without worrying about blood sugar levels.

Onions are rich in a compound called quercetin, which is beneficial for vascular health. Quercetin is a plant pigment in the flavonoid family that helps prevent damage to blood vessel walls. It lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) levels in the blood and raises good cholesterol (HDL) levels. According to a study by Texas A&M University in the United States, people who consumed more than half an onion daily experienced a 30% increase in HDL cholesterol. Additionally, onions help eliminate harmful substances from the body and boost resistance to bacteria and viruses.

 

Garlic is rich in various antioxidant components that can reduce inflammation in the body and boost immunity. Allicin in garlic has excellent anticancer and antimicrobial properties, protecting the body from harmful external substances. Allicin can be consumed more by chopping or crushing garlic during cooking. Garlic also contains a high level of selenium. Selenium helps eliminate active oxygen, providing detoxification, immune enhancement, and anti-aging effects.
