What is the thyroid gland?

The endocrine gland surrounding the airway below the soft cartilage (thyroid cartilage) protruding from the middle of the neck secretes thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones play an important role in producing ultimate energy by circulating throughout our entire body. They produce energy and also generate heat in our body. Therefore, it is the organ that produces the most fundamental hormones to regulate body temperature and maintain the lifespan of other organs.

1. Seaweed

Seaweed is rich in iodine, which helps promote the secretion of thyroid hormones and is beneficial for health improvement. Additionally, alginate suppresses carcinogens and aids in anti-cancer effects, and its abundant dietary fiber helps eliminate waste from the body and assists in weight loss. It helps prevent thyroid conditions such as hyperthyroidism, but excessive intake may cause side effects, so it is advisable to check the daily recommended amount.

2. Ginger

Ginger is rich in saponin components that have powerful antioxidant effects and boost immunity. It also contains a lot of gingerol, which aids in anticancer and antimicrobial actions.
