Eating them regularly is like stepping on the 'aging accelerator'... Which foods are dangerous?

There are foods that accelerate aging and make you look older than your actual age. Here are some 'foods that affect the speed of aging' reported by the U.S. health media outlet WebMD.

◇Spicy food Eating spicy food raises body temperature. As blood vessels expand to cool down, sweat is produced; this sweat combines with bacteria on the skin to trigger inflammation. If inflammation persists for a long period, it leads to a state of chronic inflammation. This accelerates aging and increases the risk of developing various diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease. To slow down the aging process, it is best to avoid consuming spicy and stimulating foods.

◇Beverages Beverages containing sugar, such as sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, reduce skin elasticity. Sugar binds to collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining healthy skin, interfering with their function and accelerating skin cell aging. When consuming beverages, it is advisable to check the nutritional information on the back and choose products with low sugar content whenever possible, or to limit consumption altogether.

◇ Frozen food Because frozen foods are frozen immediately after being fresh for distribution, they have a longer shelf life but suffer some loss of nutrients. In particular, Vitamin C, B vitamins, and minerals, which are significantly destroyed during the freezing process, play a crucial role in skin health and anti-aging. A deficiency in these nutrients leads to reduced skin elasticity, the formation of wrinkles, and an increased risk of premature aging. It is advisable to choose frozen foods that are frozen immediately after freshness or those that do not contain trans fats or chemical preservatives. It is also beneficial to consume balanced meals that include fresh ingredients rather than relying solely on frozen foods.

◇ Alcohol and caffeine The skin is composed of 63% water, but consuming alcohol, caffeine, and other substances causes dehydration, leading to a lack of moisture. When the skin lacks moisture, it becomes dry and prone to aging phenomena such as wrinkles. Furthermore, drinking water after consuming alcohol causes moisture to be supplied to other organs before the skin, accelerating skin aging.

◇ Processed meat Sodium, preservatives, and other additives in the production of processed meat cause inflammation in the body and accelerate aging. It is advisable to choose fresh meat whenever possible and to consume an appropriate amount of plant-based protein, such as legumes and nuts, in addition to animal protein.

◇ Fried food Fried foods generate free radicals. Their strong oxidizing power attacks and damages normal cells, accelerating aging. During the high-temperature cooking process of fried foods, toxins called Advanced Glycation Products (AGEs) are produced, and excessive consumption accelerates aging. It is advisable to avoid high-temperature cooking methods such as frying and baking as much as possible, and instead choose cooking methods that involve boiling or blanching at low temperatures while the food remains moist.

제가 매운 음식을 진짜 좋아하거든요. 특히 스트레스 많이 받는 아래는 매운 음식을 꼭 먹는데 노화를 빨리 일으킨다고 하니 이제 줄여야 되겠어요.
