In a reality where burgers exceeding 1700 calories, various soups high in sodium, and sweet drinks full of sugar are abundant, it is difficult to maintain a healthy diet. During such times, it is especially important to make the most of superfoods rich in various nutrients and antioxidants that are beneficial to health. Based on sources from American health and nutrition media such as 'Eat This, Not That,' we have identified superfoods that can be eaten frequently.

 

Lettuce = kale, spinach, and other leafy greens are well known to be good for health. Lettuce is also included among these. According to research, consuming less than 3 grams of monounsaturated fats, such as olive oil, along with these vegetables helps in the intake of carotenoids from the vegetables. Carotenoids are known to be components that help prevent chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

Eggs are rich in choline, which is one of the B vitamins complex. Choline is an essential nutrient for building cell membranes in the body. Two eggs contain more than half of the daily required amount of this nutrient. A deficiency in choline affects genes that promote the accumulation of belly fat. According to research, people who eat eggs lose weight more easily compared to those who eat foods high in carbohydrates for breakfast.

 

Eating apples with the skin on = A medium-sized apple contains about 100 calories and 4.5 grams of fiber. According to research, increasing daily fiber intake by 10 grams can reduce visceral fat by 3.7%. In particular, people who ate apples with the skin along with exercise experienced a 7.4% reduction in visceral fat. Apples are one of the fruits that contain many nutrients, including antioxidants, in their skins.

 

Cinnamon=Adding it to other foods has the effect of enhancing nutrition. According to research, the antioxidant compound polyphenols found in cinnamon improve insulin sensitivity, thereby enhancing the body's ability to store fat and regulate appetite. Additionally, adding cinnamon to carbohydrate-rich foods stabilizes blood sugar levels and prevents rapid spikes in insulin.

 

Avocado = Guacamole, a Mexican dish made by mashing avocados and mixing in onions, tomatoes, and chili peppers, is considered an effective healthy food for reducing hunger. A study found that people who ate half an avocado with their lunch experienced a 40% decrease in appetite.

 

Coconut oil = According to research, people who consumed coconut oil lost weight and belly fat more quickly than those who consumed olive oil. The medium-chain fats in coconut oil are absorbed rapidly and are transported directly to the liver without being stored as body fat, where they are converted into energy. Additionally, this process stimulates metabolism, helping with weight management.
