In addition, apples have various health benefits. The flavonoids and pectin components in apples help with cancer prevention and dieting. When pregnant women eat apples, they can also prevent fetal asthma. Moreover, apple cider vinegar made from apples also offers several health advantages.

Consuming apple cider vinegar has the effect of making the body healthy and alkaline. It also aids digestion, helps maintain body weight, and protects the skin. Based on information from American health and medical media outlets 'Health' and 'Prevention,' we explored the health benefits of apples and apple cider vinegar.

Benefits of apples

Relief from constipation = When stool remains in the large intestine for a long time, water is absorbed, making the stool harder and smaller, which worsens constipation. Laxatives can lead to dependence, so it is better to promote bowel movements through physical activity or by inducing defecation with food rather than using laxatives.

The pectin component of apples is a type of dietary fiber. Dietary fiber absorbs fats that increase when eating meat and helps eliminate them from the body through stool. Eating apples before breakfast when intestinal movement is active is effective not only for severe constipation but also for diarrhea. The pectin component is more abundant in the skin.

Prevention of breast and colon cancer = The dietary fiber pectin found in apples increases beneficial fatty acids that prevent colon cancer, and the polyphenol components abundant in red apples help produce anti-cancer substances in the intestines while remaining in the colon. Additionally, apples also help prevent breast cancer.

A research team at Cornell University in the United States divided experimental mice injected with carcinogens that cause breast cancer into two groups: one group was fed apple extract, and the other was not. As a result, 81% of the mice that did not consume apple extract developed fatal breast cancer called adenocarcinoma, but the incidence of adenocarcinoma was significantly lower in the mice that ate apple extract.

The research team explained, "We found that phytochemicals, including phenolic compounds or flavonoids found in fruits and vegetables, including apples, have antioxidant properties and inhibit tumor proliferation."

Prevention of fetal asthma = Eating a lot of fruit during pregnancy reduces the likelihood of the baby developing asthma after birth. A research team from the University of Aberdeen in the UK surveyed the eating habits and health status of 2,000 women with children aged five or older.

As a result, children of women who eat 4 to 5 apples a week had about a 50% lower prevalence of asthma compared to children of women who eat one or fewer apples a week. The research team stated, "Apples are also known to be good for adult lung health," and added, "Perhaps the antioxidant properties of apples, which eliminate harmful oxygen that negatively affects the human body, are responsible for their disease prevention effects."

Creating clear skin = Apples contain a high amount of polyphenols, which prevent aging and help create white, clear skin. A research team from the UK Food Research Institute analyzed fruits such as apples, peaches, and nectarines, which cannot have their polyphenol components separately extracted. They found that these fruits contain up to five times more polyphenols than grapes, which are known for their extractable polyphenol content.

Polyphenols are substances found abundantly in plants, with proanthocyanidins and ellagic acid in grapes, and catechins in green tea being representative polyphenol compounds. These compounds inhibit oxidation, and they have functions such as anticancer, whitening, and anti-aging effects. They also prevent cholesterol from being absorbed into the digestive tract, helping to lower blood cholesterol levels.

Diet = Chewing and eating an apple 15 minutes before a meal helps with weight loss. Usually, eating fruit as a dessert can give a sense of fullness, leading to eating less rice. A research team from Pennsylvania State University in the United States studied how the form in which apples are eaten affects satiety and energy intake.

The research team divided 58 participants into three groups: one that chewed and ate an apple before meals for five weeks, one that consumed apple sauce, and one that drank apple juice. They observed changes in satiety, appetite, and body weight. As a result, the group that chewed and ate the apple showed approximately a 15% reduction in calorie intake. There were no significant changes observed in the group that drank apple juice.

Benefits of apple cider vinegar

Detoxification effect = Potassium, which is abundant in vinegar, acts as a tonic that cleanses the human body, helping to treat sinusitis, candidiasis, laryngitis, and allergies.

Aid digestion and prevent food poisoning = The malic acid in vinegar treats common digestive issues such as constipation and acid reflux. Since it also has antibacterial and antiviral properties, adding 1-2 tablespoons (15-30cc) to a glass of water (240cc) and drinking it is effective against food poisoning.

Reducing cholesterol levels = Pectin, which is high in content, has been shown in mouse experiments to help regulate blood sugar and lower cholesterol.

Strengthen bones and teeth = Apple cider vinegar helps extract calcium from fruits, vegetables, and meats we eat, thereby promoting healthy bones and teeth.

Relief of joint pain = Contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients that reduce joint pain, including arthritis, as well as pain in the neck, back, and shoulders.

Weight loss effect = Apple cider vinegar helps maintain a feeling of fullness for a longer period, and some natural health experts say that enzymes and fiber aid in fat metabolism. In mouse experiments, there are research findings that acetic acid, a main component of vinegar, delays fat accumulation.

Basic skincare products contain antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients, so using them as a toner helps treat skin acne and scars. Mixing a cup of it into your bath after sunburn or adding a few drops when washing your hair enhances shine.

Effect of insect bite relief = A disinfectant that soothes the skin and immediately treats allergies when bitten by an insect.

      일단 할 수 있는데까지 계속 면역주사도 맞고, 암세포 억제를 위한 관리도하고 해야지요~
      암은 완치라는게 없어요~ 남들보다 좀 더 신경쓰고 관리하면 더 건강하게 잘 지낼 수 있는거고~
      그걸 놓치면, 남들보다 암하고 친해진 상태라 언제든 다시 또 찾아올 수 있다고 ^^
      암표지자 검사 중 하나인 NK 세포 활성도 수치가 워낙 낮은 상태라서 면역력을 높이는 노력을 해야한답니다... (잠을 잘 자야하는데 자는 시간 아깝다고 자꾸 새벽에 일어나고 늦게 자고...이게 제일 문제인 것 같아요 ㅎㅎ)

      회사 동생이 서울 팝업스토어에서 첨가물 없이 땅콩만 갈아낸 버터 가져와서 맛본적 있는데

      사과식초를 희석해서 먹으면 괜찮데요.
      희석하지 않고 직접 먹을 때 애나멜이 부식되어 치아가 약해진다고 들었어요.
      사과식초를 섭취하면 칼슘이 빠져나가는 것을 도우니 뼈 건강, 그러니 치아 건강에도 좋은거구요~
      희석해서 먹고, 물로 한번 헹궈주면~ 
      치아 부식도 막고, 칼슘을 빠져나가는 것도 막아 치아 건강에도 좋아지는거~~ 아닐까요? ^^
