Don't eat this fruit just because its seeds are small... It's toxic.

Fruit is healthy and delicious, but it can be a hassle to eat. Even if you eat the peel, you still have to scoop out the seeds. Even that's a hassle, so some people just eat the small seeds, like apple or grape seeds. However, some seeds are better left uneaten, so caution is advised.

◇Watermelon, grape, and melon seeds are rich in antioxidants.

Some seeds are packed with beneficial nutrients. Watermelon seeds are rich in linolenic acid and vitamin E, which contribute to vascular health. Despite their bitter taste, they are also rich in cucurbitacins, which suppress the production of reactive oxygen species, making them beneficial for anti-aging and cancer prevention. Grape seeds are also rich in polyphenols, an antioxidant. Polyphenols promote cell regeneration, preventing aging and improving skin elasticity. They are also effective in preventing dementia. According to a research team at Mount Sinai University in the United States, people who consumed a lot of grape seeds had lower levels of beta-amyloid, a compound that contributes to memory decline, compared to those who did not.

Melon seeds are also beneficial. Melon is rich in folate, a type of vitamin B. Folate is particularly abundant in the "placenta," the white cluster of seeds in the center of the melon. While the flesh contains about 15 micrograms of folate, the placenta contains more than five times that amount, at 80 micrograms. Folate is crucial for cell division and growth, and aids in the secretion of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Eating the placenta also provides vitamin C, a key antioxidant that boosts immune function and stimulates metabolism.

◇Do not eat apple, cherry, peach, or apricot seeds.

Some seeds are toxic and should be avoided. Apples, cherries, peaches, and apricots are prime examples. The seeds of these fruits contain cyanide. While cyanide itself is not toxic, enzymes in the body break it down into toxic hydrogen cyanide. Eating them once or twice is not a problem, but frequent consumption can cause headaches, dizziness, anxiety, and vomiting. In severe cases, it can even cause elevated blood pressure and heart rhythm problems. Therefore, seeds from apples, cherries, peaches, and apricots are excluded from the "List of Food Ingredients" approved for use in food manufacturing by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

===============

Fortunately, there are times when I get to eat watermelon, grapes, and cantaloupe.

Apples, cherries, peaches, and apricots

Isn't this one of those seeds that you never eat??

Except for apples, the seeds are too big

    씨앗에 아주 소량 청산가리 산이 있다고 들었는데 아마 그게 자신 씨를 보호하려 그런 성분을 내뿜나 봅니다 섭취 시 조심해야겠어요.
