[Herald Economy = Reporter Seongyeon Yuk] Breakfast provides energy and nutrients for the day, and even when dieting, consuming high-quality protein foods is beneficial for satiety and other benefits. Eggs are a prime example of animal-based foods, while soybeans are recommended for plant-based foods.

Eggs are a representative nutrient-dense food. Aside from vitamin C, carbohydrates, and dietary fiber, they contain a variety of nutrients and a balanced range of essential amino acids. They're easy to prepare and relatively inexpensive. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends eating one egg daily for a healthy diet.
Lee Young-eun, professor emeritus of the Department of Food and Nutrition at Wonkwang University (former president of the Korean Nutrition Association), said, "Healthy adults can eat about two eggs for breakfast without worrying about cholesterol. They provide a feeling of fullness, making them a nutritious diet food." She added, "Fried eggs are convenient, but if you're sensitive to calorie intake due to fat intake, boiled or poached eggs are also good options."
Eating eggs for breakfast is also a good habit for sleep. Eggs are a prime source of the essential amino acid tryptophan, containing 125 mg per 100 g. Tryptophan helps produce melatonin and serotonin, hormones that promote deep sleep.
However, the "Egg One Food Diet," popularized by actress Nicole Kidman, is generally not recommended. According to a 2008 study published in the international academic journal "Journal of Nutrition," an egg-only diet has significant potential drawbacks, as it reduces the variety of nutrients consumed. When including eggs in your breakfast, it's recommended to eat them with vegetables or grains.
Vegetable soybeans… "Eating soybeans in the morning is also beneficial for gut health."

While eggs are nutrient-dense among animal-based foods, beans are a prime example among plant-based foods. They provide a high amount of dietary fiber and protein while reducing concerns about saturated fat. They're a convenient breakfast ingredient that's easy on the stomach. For busy mornings, they can be added to egg and tofu dishes, soups, salads, and sandwiches.
Recent research demonstrating the various benefits of soybeans has also been introduced in Korea. At the Korean Society of Food Science and Technology Symposium held at the Jeju International Convention Center in June of this year, Professor Shigenobu Shibata of Hiroshima University in Japan emphasized, "Even the same food can produce different effects depending on the time of consumption." Professor Shigenobu's research team found that the most effective meal times for muscle synthesis and skeletal muscle mass increase were breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in that order. Soy protein was also most effective when consumed in the morning.
Professor Shibata also cited previous research showing that eating soy protein for breakfast can improve gut health by increasing the production of short-chain fatty acids. Short-chain fatty acids, which serve as an energy source for colonic mucosal cells, are known to suppress harmful bacteria and enhance gut health.
