Figs are one of the fruits loved for their delicate sweetness and soft texture.

 

In ancient Egypt, figs were utilized as an important food source. At the time, figs were primarily consumed by the aristocracy and royalty, and were regarded as a sacred fruit in religious ceremonies.

 

In addition to being used as a staple food, figs were utilized for medicinal purposes. Ancient Egyptians used figs as a remedy for indigestion and to aid in wound healing. Scenes of cultivating and consuming figs frequently appear in pyramid murals and ancient documents, indicating that figs were an important element of the culinary culture of that era. First, the simplest way to enjoy its natural flavor is to consume it raw.

 

Figs are a fruit that can be eaten with the skin on, offering a unique flavor created by the harmonious blend of the skin's thin texture and the flesh's softness. It is important to choose figs that are neither too hard nor too soft. Fresh figs are characterized by smooth skin and a soft texture when gently pressed. Additionally, when washing, it is best to rinse them lightly with water to avoid damaging the flesh.

 

Secondly, figs are a versatile fruit that can be used in a variety of dishes.

 

Adding figs to a salad creates a unique flavor profile where freshness and sweetness harmonize. When paired with ricotta or blue cheese, the figs' sweetness stands out even more. Additionally, they can be thinly sliced ​​and placed on bread, or served with yogurt as a dessert.

Thirdly, figs can also be used as a marinade for meat.
