Actress Lee Young-ae (53) revealed the diet she eats every morning for her health.

On the 13th, a video titled "Lee Young-ae Filmed a Milan Travel Vlog?!" was posted on the YouTube channel 'VOGUE KOREA'. In the video, Lee Young-ae visited Milan to attend the winter show of the Italian luxury fashion brand 'Bottega Veneta'. When the Vogue filming team asked, "What do you usually eat for breakfast?", Lee Young-ae replied, "I drink warm water in the morning," adding, "(Drinking water) helps warm up and improve blood circulation."

He continued, saying, "I steam tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, and broccoli."

"He said, 'People often eat it simply by drizzling olive oil and balsamic sauce over it.'"

Let's find out what health benefits the diet revealed by Lee Young-ae has.

◇Warm water

On an empty stomach in the morning, it is best to drink lukewarm or warm water at around 30 degrees Celsius, which is slightly lower than body temperature. Drinking water replenishes the fluids lost through sweat or respiration while sleeping. Water thins blood, which has become more viscous, thereby reducing the risk of myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction, which often occur in the morning. Additionally, drinking a glass of water immediately after waking up increases the volume of blood and lymph fluid, facilitating urination and defecation, which is effective for eliminating waste products.

However, it is advisable to exercise caution with cold water. Drinking cold water can excessively stimulate the autonomic nervous system, potentially leading to heart abnormalities such as arrhythmia. Additionally, as body temperature drops, unnecessary energy is expended to raise it back to normal. In particular, the elderly and frail individuals have lower basal metabolic rates, so drinking cold water can cause a further decrease in body temperature and reduce blood flow to the gastrointestinal tract, potentially leading to problems such as reduced secretion of digestive juices.

◇Tomato

Antioxidants found in tomatoes, such as lycopene, beta-carotene, and lutein, help lower blood pressure. Since blood pressure peaks in the morning, eating tomatoes in the morning can help manage symptoms. Notably, tomatoes contain the highest amount of lycopene among existing edible crops, and a characteristic of lycopene is that its content increases as the tomatoes are cooked. According to a research team at Cornell University, heating tomatoes at 87 degrees Celsius for 2, 15, and 30 minutes resulted in lycopene content increasing by 6%, 17%, and 35%, respectively. Additionally, tomatoes contain components that aid digestion, making them a good choice for breakfast. However, because tomatoes lower blood pressure and cool the body, it is recommended that elderly individuals with weak constitutions or those with low blood pressure consume them cooked rather than raw.

◇Cabbage

Cabbage helps prevent skin aging. The carotenoid components in cabbage act as antioxidants, preventing the aging of skin cells and promoting the regeneration of epithelial cells. Additionally, cabbage contains a compound called 'indole-3-carbinol,' which has anticancer effects by inhibiting abnormal cell proliferation. This compound prevents the development of breast and cervical cancer by creating barriers on the membranes of breast and various cells. In fact, according to Michigan State University and the National Food Research Institute in Poland, women who consumed cabbage at least three times a week had a lower risk of developing breast cancer compared to those who consumed it only once.

◇Carrot

Carrots stimulate appetite and are excellent for preventing constipation. In particular, they are rich in beta-carotene, which converts into Vitamin A in the body, helping to prevent aging and cancer. They are effective for eye health and play a role in boosting immunity and preventing high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis. The digestion and absorption rate of beta-carotene in carrots is higher when cooked than when eaten raw.

◇Broccoli

Broccoli is rich in fiber, which helps you feel full for a long time and suppresses appetite. In particular, the beta-carotene found in broccoli is effective in suppressing appetite. Additionally, broccoli contains Vitamin C, an antioxidant, which can help prevent various types of cancer. 100g of broccoli contains 114mg of Vitamin C, which is twice the amount found in lemons. Furthermore, it is rich in Vitamin B and calcium, which helps strengthen the immune system and prevent osteoporosis.

============================

I make sure to drink lukewarm water as part of my morning fasting routine after waking up,

Now that the cold wind blows, I should make sure to drink warm Yin-Yang tea.

I like eating vegetables raw.

Actress Lee Young-ae steamed the vegetables

I see you are having olive oil and balsamic sauce.

I should make sure to eat more vegetables than fruit in the morning.
