Comedian Lee Guk-joo (38) mentioned the benefits of duck meat fat.

On the 29th, a video titled "(For Cold) 1kg Duck Meat Highball Ramen is the Cure!!/CU Fresh Lemon Highball is Crazy!!!" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Lee Guk-joo'. In the video, Lee Guk-joo said, "Since I caught a cold, I will eat duck meat that is not刺激 and good for health," and added, "Especially, duck fat should not be discarded. It's good oil. They say you should eat it." She then revealed herself grilling duck and eating it with perilla leaves. Let's learn about the benefits and precautions of duck meat.

Duck meat, helps boost immunity
 

Duck meat has various health benefits. First, it is rich in nutrients and is perfect as a nourishing dish.

 

Duck meat has a high ratio of oleic acid, which is effective in boosting immunity, and linolenic acid, which improves blood circulation.

In addition, it is rich in essential amino acids, calcium, iron, and phosphorus, which also help with nutritional supplementation.

Duck meat also helps improve kidney function and aids in the elimination of toxins accumulated in the body due to fine dust and heavy metals.

 

Professor Song Hyuk's team at Konkuk University measured the toxins in the body after consuming duck meat. The results showed that the amount of toxins in the body decreased after consumption compared to before. Additionally, the amount of toxins excreted from the body also decreased after consumption compared to before, and the kidney function responsible for expelling toxins was also activated.

Especially, duck meat is good to eat with chives. Chives are rich in dietary fiber and contain many vitamins and minerals, which can enhance the health benefits when eaten with duck meat. Unlike duck, which has a cold nature, chives have a warm nature, and eating them together provides mutual complementarity and a good balance. Additionally, chives help to mask the characteristic smell of duck. This is also why chive salad is served alongside duck meat.

Even with duck fat, excessive consumption should be avoided.
 

The reason why duck meat fat is considered good is because it contains a lot of unsaturated fats. Fats that solidify at room temperature are saturated fats. Conversely, unsaturated fats remain liquid and do not solidify at room temperature. Unsaturated fats help lower cholesterol levels in the body, making them relatively healthier than saturated fats. However, it cannot be definitively said that unsaturated fats are good for health and saturated fats are bad. Saturated fats are also essential components of subcutaneous fat. Additionally, duck meat contains not only unsaturated fats but also saturated fats. According to the Food and Drug Administration's food nutrition database, 100 grams of duck meat contains 6.2 grams of saturated fat and 11.8 grams of unsaturated fat. Therefore, it is advisable not to consume duck fat excessively.
