Foods that help with indigestion and diarrhea
1) White rice and porridge
White rice is easy to digest and contains little fiber that causes diarrhea. It has a tendency to clump together, making loose stool firmer. Its high potassium and carbohydrate content help replenish lost nutrients.
Soft white rice porridge can be easily eaten when feeling unwell. When eating it as rice, cook it with plenty of water and let it cool slightly before eating to reduce the burden on the stomach. Suitable side dishes include boiled eggs, steamed eggs, or seasoned spinach, which are easy to digest.
White bread
White bread is made by removing the bran from grains and using white flour, so it contains little dietary fiber. Like white rice, it is an easily digestible food. When eating bread, chewing slowly and without rushing helps with digestion.
3) Boiled Potatoes
Potatoes are a food that people with irritable bowel syndrome can easily digest. When experiencing diarrhea or vomiting, both fluids and potassium are depleted. Since potatoes are rich in potassium, they help regulate the body's fluid balance.
4) 감
Eating a lot of persimmons can cause constipation because tannin is present near the seed area of the fruit. However, when experiencing loose stools and severe diarrhea, eating persimmons can help restore normal digestive function.
