People who eat like this after an cancer diagnosis live longer. (Reflecting...)

While watching the news...

There was a news article that really caught my eye...

As I read, I also reflect on my diet...

Honestly, from a parent's perspective, I can't just eat like this...

I think this diet plan is something that not only cancer patients like me should refer to but also healthy people. Haha

There should be no recurrence, so I get an immune shot every week and a vitamin D shot every three months...

For now, I am managing it until it becomes possible...

Not only injections but also eating habits and lifestyle habits should be careful, right...

Good eating habits, good sleep, good stress management~~~ Reflecting again~!!

To summarize briefly~

Fresh fruit, whole grains, nuts, olive oil~

Eat fish and seafood at least twice a week~

Consume small amounts of dairy products and low-fat proteins daily.

Reduce red meat and processed meat, and cut out sugary drinks!!!

The Mediterranean diet has been shown to be related to extended lifespan in cancer patients.

Those who follow the Mediterranean diet well after being diagnosed with various cancers tend to live longer than those who do not.

The risk of death due to cardiovascular disease was also lower.

In a paper published on the 2nd (local time) in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC: CardioOncology), the researchers

The risk of early death among those who practiced the Mediterranean diet after cancer diagnosis is 32%.

It was reported that the mortality rate related to cardiovascular disease was 60% lower.

This effect was independent of the type of cancer.

Researcher Maria Benedetta Donati from the Italy Umberto Veronesi Joint Research Platform Foundation
The press release stated, "This data supports the intriguing hypothesis that various chronic diseases such as tumors and heart disease actually share the same molecular mechanisms."
In medical literature, it is called 'common soil'.
It was added that it refers to the common basis from which two types of disabilities originate.

The Mediterranean diet focuses on consuming plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, seeds, nuts, legumes, and olive oil.
In addition, consume fish and seafood at least twice a week, and include small amounts of dairy and low-fat proteins daily.
It is recommended to minimize the intake of red meat and processed foods and to cut out sugary drinks.

The researchers recruited 800 adult cancer patients in Italy from 2005 to 2010 and followed them for over 13 years.
Participants provided detailed information about their eating habits in accordance with the purpose of the study.

Maria Laura Bonaccio, the lead author of the study and head of the Epidemiology and Prevention Department at the IRCCS Neuromed Mediterranean Neurological Institute, said, "While it is well known through the literature that the Mediterranean diet plays a beneficial role in the primary prevention of certain tumors,
It has been said that little is known about the potential benefits this dietary model may have for people who have already been diagnosed with cancer.

Considering that the number of cancer survivors is expected to increase further due to advances in medicine
The researchers emphasized that understanding how a good diet can improve the health and well-being of people who have survived the fight against cancer is important.

Researcher Chiara Tonelli, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation
"The Mediterranean diet mainly consists of foods such as fruits, vegetables, and olive oil, which are natural sources of antioxidant compounds, and the benefits observed in terms of mortality from not only cancer but also cardiovascular diseases can be explained by a diet particularly rich in these bioactive compounds," he said.

Last month, a research team from Harvard University in the United States found that consistently following a Mediterranean diet
It has been announced that the risk of death from all diseases can be reduced by more than 20%.
