When working in the kitchen, you sometimes get minor burns. You might get a blister from hot steam, a hot pan, or hot oil splashing. Usually, you cool it with cold water, but even when you cool it with cold water and apply ice, it still hurts a lot and feels very painful.
In that case, finely mash the potatoes and apply a thick layer to the burned area, then cover it with gauze or a bandage. The potatoes absorb the heat quickly, helping the burn heal very fast.
This is something I experienced myself. It is really effective for small, light burns that only cause minor blistering.
