The effects of eating eggs and nuts in the morning... foods to avoid?
- Eggs + Soy Milk... Why are these food pairings not recommended?
There is a person who drinks soy milk made from beans in the morning because they don't feel like drinking regular milk. Eggs and soy milk are high in protein and seem to have a synergistic effect. However, eating eggs together with soy milk or soybeans can cause the trypsin component in soy to break down the protein in eggs, which may actually reduce the nutritional value. While it is not a major burden on the body, it is not recommended to consume these two foods together because it decreases their nutritional benefits.
There is no link between egg consumption and blood cholesterol... it's better to accompany with vegetables.
There are still people who worry that eating eggs will significantly increase their blood cholesterol levels. According to the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, there is no correlation between egg consumption and blood cholesterol. The Yale Prevention Research Center in the United States also reported that eating two eggs a day does not affect an increase in blood cholesterol. Eggs contain various nutrients such as protein, fat, calcium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus.
Eggs contain a well-balanced combination of essential amino acids that must be consumed through food. Eating 1 to 2 eggs in the morning helps maintain a feeling of fullness, which is good for preventing overeating at lunch. The choline component also contributes to activating cognitive functions. Eggs contain vitamins A and B, but not vitamin C. It is good to accompany them with vitamin C-rich foods such as green vegetables, bell peppers, kiwis, broccoli, and spinach.
Nuts + Apples… Why Do I Feel Bloated?
Sometimes people eat nuts in the morning and have an apple as a dessert. However, these two foods are not a good combination. Eating nuts and apples together can cause bloating. This is because nuts, which digest slowly, and apples, which digest quickly, mix during digestion and produce gas, leading to abdominal bloating. Since nuts are not eaten in large quantities, eating them with apples may not cause discomfort. However, if bloating occurs, it is better to stop eating them together.
- Nuts and seeds, the reason they are good for preventing hyperlipidemia... they reduce triglycerides and blood cholesterol.
According to data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, regularly consuming nuts such as walnuts, peanuts, and pine nuts helps lower the levels of 'bad' cholesterol (LDL) in the blood. The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences also stated that nuts reduce triglycerides and blood cholesterol, which are causes of vascular diseases. This can help prevent atherosclerosis, which narrows blood vessels, strokes (brain infarction or hemorrhage), and heart diseases (angina or myocardial infarction), following hyperlipidemia (dyslipidemia). However, since they also contain saturated fats, eating them in excess can lead to weight gain. For walnuts, a slightly smaller amount than a handful is recommended.
