(Hint) Protect your skin and health with rice bran (rice husk)
When I say "migrang," many people might not be familiar with it. Migrang is rice bran, which means it is the outer layer and embryo of brown rice that has been removed. It is the powder that is produced when rice is milled at a mill (factory) to make rice. It is located deeper inside than the rice husk.
The rice bran in the photo is of good quality. Nowadays, this rice bran is also sold. I didn't know it was being sold, but I found out while watching a TV program, and I asked my rural mother to get some for me. In the past, this rice bran was used as livestock feed or spread on the floors of animal houses, but now it has become a precious treasure that is sold.
The bran layer and germ of brown rice, the raw material of rice bran, are rich in vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, and it is said that over 90% of rice's nutrients are present there. Therefore, it is now a precious food that should never be discarded.
This is rice bran sent by my mom. In the past, we had a rice milling machine at home, so we processed rice ourselves and had rice bran left over, but now she goes to the mill and asks them to give it to her. Also, since I use it for skin beauty, she even sifts it very finely and sends it to me. I'm so touched ㅠㅠ
I mainly use it for cosmetic purposes.
Mikang has so many benefits and effects that it is used in beauty cosmetics soaps as well as consumed as food.
So, what are the benefits and effects of rice bran (rice germ)?

Since explaining all the benefits of rice bran in detail would be too lengthy, I will just summarize them briefly. ^^
I mainly use rice bran as shown in the picture above. Because it is excellent for exfoliating dead skin cells, I lightly dampen it with water and wash my face like using soap. However, be careful not to get it in your eyes, so close your eyes while doing it. After washing your face this way, your skin becomes soft and the dead skin cells are perfectly removed. It is a natural scrub. It exfoliates better than regular scrubs and also supplies nutrients to the skin.
If exfoliating is difficult, you can also mix rice bran powder with water and wash your face. And applying a soothing aloe vera pack would be really beneficial.
It's not just for washing your face; you can also use it all over your body as a scrub. Your skin will become soft and smooth. ^^
When removing dead skin, I prefer to use the rice bran straight from the package rather than the powder sifted through a sieve. It's more effective.
Softer rice bran powder seems to be even better when used for masks or massages.
Mikang powder can also be mixed with cereal or milk like misutgaru, and it is also good to add to salads or soybean paste soup.
How to store rice bran!
I shared it with my friend because I thought it was good, but they left the whole thing in the bathroom, and mold and tiny bugs appeared, so they threw it away. 😢
Mikang has the same composition as rice and is even more susceptible to moisture. Since fermentation and oxidation occur easily, only divide a small amount for use in the bathroom and store it in an airtight container. Keep the rest in a zipper bag or airtight container and freeze it. This way, it can be stored for about 1 to 2 months.
How is it?
Mikang is such a wonderful treasure trove, isn't it?^^
Rice plants are not only for eating rice; they are a valuable plant with nothing to waste.
