While enjoying this food, I lost a clump of hair... What on earth was it?
Fast food is something I eat very, very rarely‼️
Let's also avoid carbonated drinks‼️
According to foreign media outlets such as Daily Mail on the 15th (local time), Sophia Molson has been constantly enjoying fast food since her teenage years. In the mornings, she also enjoyed drinking carbonated beverages along with fast food. She said, "I ate fast food almost every day, and at some point, my hair started falling out in clumps," and "My skin also worsened, to the point where I disliked my appearance." She continued, "I lost confidence and felt ashamed of my looks and body shape." Sophia Molson revealed that she ordered and ate foods like hamburgers, pizza, and pasta every day. Her clothes even became too small for her, and she said, "I thought I needed to make a change for a regret-free life," and "I promised myself to go to the gym three times a week." With exercise and reduced fast food intake, Sophia Molson felt her body changing. She said, "It was difficult at first, but as I maintained consistent care, my hair stopped falling out as much as before, and over a year and a half, I lost 38 pounds (about 17 kg)." Currently, Sophia Molson is living a new life, having regained her confidence. This article takes a closer look at the fast food Sophia Molson used to enjoy and how it affected her health.
Actually, eating fast food regularly can lead to hair loss. It increases neutral fats and cholesterol in the blood, making the blood sticky and leading to blood clots, which cause the blood vessels, especially the small and thin peripheral blood vessels, to become narrow and impede blood circulation. The blood vessels surrounding hair follicles, which produce hair, are all peripheral blood vessels, and poor blood circulation can prevent proper nutrient supply, making hair loss more likely. In fact, a study conducted by a research team at Tokyo Medical University in Japan on mice showed that hair loss occurred in mice fed a high-fat diet. The research team analyzed that high-fat foods induce stress and block the regeneration of hair follicles, leading to their inactivation.
Fast food is also easy to cause obesity. A research team from the Department of Food and Nutrition at Dong-A University conducted a survey of 1,726 adults aged 20 to 39 based on the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2013 to 2014. They divided the participants into three groups: those who consumed fast food less than once a month, those who consumed it 1 to 3 times a month, and those who consumed it at least once a week. As a result, the more frequently people ate fast food, the more their weight increased. They also had larger waist circumferences and higher blood pressure, with particularly noticeable differences between the group that ate at least once a week and the group that ate less than once a month. The more fast food was consumed, the higher the levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, all of which are associated with dyslipidemia.
