이론은 아는데 ㅠ 늘 자기전 늦은시간에 샤워하는 날이 많다보니 머리를 완전히 말리고 자는것도 일이네요 ㅎ
Some people find it bothersome to dry their hair after taking a shower. As a result, it is not uncommon to see people sleeping with wet hair pressed against their pillow. However, going to sleep with wet hair can negatively affect the scalp and may promote hair loss.
Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp may cause hair loss.
Wet hair provides an ideal environment for bacteria to multiply. If you sleep with your pillow in that condition, the contact area does not dry well, becoming moist and damp, which promotes the growth of a bacteria called dandruff bacteria. When the scalp becomes damp, dirt and other waste materials easily stick to it. The sebum secretion from the scalp also increases, and dandruff bacteria thrive in areas with abundant sebum secretion. When dandruff bacteria block hair follicles and oxidize the skin, seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp can develop. If you wash your hair daily but it quickly becomes greasy, dandruff is abundant, and your scalp itches, you should suspect seborrheic dermatitis. If seborrheic dermatitis worsens, there is a high risk of hair loss. This is because hair cannot grow healthily, leading to thinning hair and hair falling out during growth.
Sleeping with wet hair also damages the hair easily. Hair is composed of the inner cortex and the outer cuticle, and when water touches the hair, the hard outer layer of the cuticle gets wet first, and then water is absorbed into the inner cortex. When the entire hair becomes wet, it swells and becomes more susceptible to external damage. Wet hair is more prone to splitting and breaking than dry hair. Hair can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water, and the longer it remains wet, the more water it absorbs, leading to increased splitting and damage.
◇It is recommended to dry completely with a gentle breeze.
After washing your hair, gently press the water out with a towel, then use a hairdryer to completely dry the scalp and hair roots. It is better to dry with cold air rather than hot air. Hot air can stimulate sweat and sebum secretion from the hair roots. If you use hot air, keep the dryer about 20-30cm away from your hair. It is also helpful to first dry areas like behind the ears or the back of the head with hot air, and then dry the remaining areas with cold air.
