Urinary tract infection refers to an infection caused by bacteria or illness invading the catheter used to excrete urine from the body. It is possible for bacteria to enter and multiply in the bladder or kidneys.

The most common type is cystitis, and a more severe form is pyelonephritis. Urinary tract infections are more dangerous for women because their urethra is shorter, making infections easier. Based on sources such as the British daily The Guardian, we looked into ways to prevent urinary tract infections in women.

"Drink plenty of water and excrete properly" = From morning to night, drink enough water. And go to the bathroom regularly. Holding urine for a long time increases the chance of bacteria multiplying. It is important to keep the bladder clean and empty.

"Need to check if you have these symptoms" = If you experience symptoms such as going to the bathroom too often or pain during urination, you should see a doctor immediately. This is especially true if it is a recurrence. It is necessary to determine through tests whether it is due to tissue abnormalities, decreased bladder capacity, or a weakened immune system.

"Direction of cleaning" = If you have the habit of wiping from back to front after urinating, you must change it immediately. Because it can transfer bacteria from stool to the urinary tract with your own hands. Always wipe from front to back.

"After middle age, greater caution is needed" = Estrogen plays a role in preventing urinary tract infections through various mechanisms. Therefore, women who have finished menstruating are more vulnerable to urinary tract infections. If age is a factor, it is necessary to refer to research indicating that local vaginal estrogen is effective in reducing urinary tract infections in postmenopausal women.

"Cranberry intake" = Although its efficacy has not been fully verified yet, cranberries contain proanthocyanidins, which are known to prevent bacteria from attaching to the bladder. However, it must be consumed in fruit form. Cranberry juice contains much more sugar and additives than beneficial ingredients.

==============

Is cranberry good~~

It's not a complete verification, but...

Berry antioxidants are always good.

Drinking water is the best at the hospital.

Sam said so.

Drink 2 liters a day, haha.

Today, I must diligently recharge my hydration.
