Syphilis test & treatment review - Can I find out the transmission route of syphilis?

I suffered for a long time after contracting syphilis, which I had only heard about through word of mouth. I want to share my experience with STD testing and treatment. I also plan to discuss whether I was able to find out the transmission route of syphilis, which I was very curious about. I hope this will help those who lack information about syphilis.

 

Syphilis is mainly transmitted through sexual contact, and in the early stages of infection, symptoms are almost nonexistent or very mild, making it difficult to notice. I initially experienced a small rash along with general fatigue, but I dismissed it as simple tiredness or a skin problem.ㅠㅠ

 

However, as the symptoms worsened, characteristic ulcers appeared on the skin, and the lymph nodes started to swell... It was only then that I began to suspect syphilis after researching various things.

 

 

I went to the hospital for a sexually transmitted infection test with worry, but the testing method was relatively simple. They said that by drawing blood and conducting a blood test, they could confirm the presence of syphilis bacteria. The results usually come back within a few days! In my case, I was told I got tested quickly after the initial symptoms appeared~ So I was able to get a diagnosis and treatment before the disease worsened. (If it had progressed to a serious stage and affected the central nervous system, the treatment method might be different for you ㅠ)

 

 

Syphilis treatment mainly involves the use of antibiotics. I received penicillin injections once a week along with antibiotics. My symptoms improved within three weeks after treatment, and regular follow-up tests confirmed that I had fully recovered, so I am now considered cured haha

 

 

I was really curious about where I might have contracted syphilis and the transmission route, but I was told it's difficult to determine the exact transmission path. This is because it can take some time for symptoms to appear after infection, making it hard to pinpoint the exact time of infection.

 

Therefore, using safe practices in sexual activity is more important than anything else in preventing syphilis. Through this experience, I was reminded of the importance of safe sex and became more aware of sexually transmitted infections.ㅠㅠ

 

Syphilis can be completely cured if detected early and treated appropriately, so if you have even the slightest symptoms of suspicion, please get tested immediately!!!
