If I don't have surgery, will the treatment not work? Can I continue with the procedure?

I had no idea, but a few years ago, during a health checkup, I found out I had a uterine fibroid.

Uterine fibroids may not have an immediate impact, but if left untreated, they can continue to grow and eventually lead to more serious health issues.

I had it removed already through my second procedure because I was told I could improve.

However, the problem with conditions like uterine fibroids is that they do not resolve after a single treatment and tend to recur, so the future course of treatment needs to be considered.

I'm 고민하고 있어요

If I don't have surgery, will the treatment not work? Can I continue with the procedure?

Gynecological conditions seem to be quite difficult in many ways. The examination methods are challenging, and the appropriate treatment options are also difficult.

First of all, going to the gynecology department and having an ultrasound is an uncomfortable and difficult task.

I first discovered that I have a uterine fibroid during a health checkup.

That place is only for examinations, so I was told I need to go back to the gynecology department for tests and then have it removed.

So, I visited Goeunbit Women's Hospital for a check-up and was diagnosed that it needs to be removed.

They fasted on the day, underwent anesthesia, and the removal was performed, and fortunately, it was successfully removed.

Uterine fibroids have a high risk of recurrence, and the cause cannot be determined.

You need to understand the cause to achieve a fundamental solution, but it's just repetitive treatment of discovering and removing it.

If I don't have surgery, will the treatment not work? Can I continue with the procedure?

About two years passed, and another fibroid was discovered, so I underwent a second removal.

The only option is to repeat this process, or otherwise, go to a large hospital and be hospitalized.

They told me to get surgery instead of a procedure, and they said I will get better after that.

And they are recommending IUD Mirena to prevent recurrence.

Mirena's side effects are also quite severe.

So, should I just choose the method of removing the fibroids whenever they are discovered and keep repeating the same treatment?

I'm really struggling and 고민이 되네요 whether I should undergo surgery for a fundamental solution and get a Mirena procedure.

Constantly recurring uterine fibroids are very difficult and troubling.

Still, I trust and continue to go because the doctor at the hospital I used to visit explains things kindly and well.

I plan to discuss future treatment options for uterine fibroids with my doctor.
