7cm or larger detected, review of endometrial ablation with alcohol sclerotherapy procedure 1
*Chronology
Postmenopausal bleeding since the end of 2021 (Wow)
Since spring 2022, my back has hurt on tiring days.
Severe lower back pain began suddenly from April 6, 2024.
▶Sharp stabbing pain in the upper pelvis and lower back area as if pricked with a needle
Visited the obstetrics and gynecology department on April 8, 2024.
▶Pelvic ultrasound - Confirm approximately 7cm in the left pelvic area
April 15, 2024 - Sclerotherapy procedure
Menstrual cramps
I didn't think my menstrual cramps were severe. I think I used to believe that having menstrual pain was normal during menstruation. However, upon reflection, I realized that on the first and second days, I took one tablet of EasyGen Eve before feeling any menstrual cramps.
I think I only took the medication when I was seriously ill, but upon reflection, I feel like I started taking it regularly at some point. (Maybe because my menstrual cramps worsened, haha.)
Menstrual cycle
-Until something really stressful happens, I was always consistent. Haha
Menstrual blood / Abnormal bleeding
The amount of menstrual flow seems to have slightly decreased if I had to say. By the evening of the third day, I was only wearing panty liners. Even then, I only got a little wet very occasionally.
- Irregular bleeding: Haha... I've had irregular bleeding since 2021, and you're asking if I ignored it? That's right... It was bothersome. But since my periods are regular, I was okay~ I also had little menstrual pain ~ and just ignored it... Yes...
*Details of Obstetrics and Gynecology Visit
Visit to the obstetrics and gynecology department on April 8th
I confirmed a 7cm mass in the area where I am experiencing pain through a pelvic ultrasound.
Doctor: Endometriosis, and it has grown in size, so it requires either a procedure or surgery.
▶Surgery: Laparoscopic - Large hospital, takes a long time, needs several days of rest - followed by medication intake
▶Procedure: Alcohol Sclerotherapy - Currently available at the hospital, performed quickly, guided by ultrasound during the procedure, rapid recovery - followed by medication intake
- The question I had heard here: then why does everyone undergo surgery if they have procedures?
Even if you want to undergo the procedure, it may be difficult to perform with adhesions.
Higher recurrence rate compared to surgery, but surgery also has a high recurrence rate anyway.
Consultation with the director
▶Cost discussion / Blood test for ovarian cancer screening / Will consider and decide after some thought
I cried all the way home... It wasn't so much fear as feeling wronged and annoyed.
And I will undergo alcohol sclerosis on April 15th, one week after the diagnosis. I'll continue writing when I have time~
