My personal health tip: riding a bicycle

Hello, I have been self-employed for about 7 years, and because I am busy and overwhelmed with work, I am so exhausted that I don't even have the energy to exercise. I have been avoiding going to the gym for about 7 years, and as a result, my body has become completely out of shape. Later, I became flabby and developed joint pain and muscle aches everywhere, to the point where there was no part of my body that didn't hurt.

I thought, what's the point of living like this, so I decided to let go of some financial concerns and started exercising diligently for my health.

At first, I eagerly started walking as much as I could with the app open, aiming for 6,000 steps, and then I began strength training at the gym to build muscle. In less than a year, I regained all my flabby muscles, lost glute muscles, and thigh muscles, and I ended up with even stronger stamina than before.

Lately, I feel like I've hit a slump in my exercise routine, so I want to go but also don't want to go, and I keep hesitating. Seeing myself in this state, I thought I should ride my bike, so I bought an MTB bike and tried riding it. But since I have no specific goal, I start thinking maybe I shouldn't go out, and then I end up riding or not riding my bike, and it becomes a cycle.

However, a 24-hour MartKing supermarket has opened near my house.

I was thinking about not going to Lake Park when I just wanted to exercise, but even if I go to buy something worth only 1,000 won, I end up going to Lake Park, exercising, visiting the mart, browsing around, and even buying some milk. It naturally becomes exercise. I ride my bike every day without fail, crossing the inclined sky bridge back and forth, which makes my thigh and hip muscles more toned as a bonus, and I am satisfied with the results.

As you age, having strong thigh and hip muscles is said to be the secret to longevity and good health.

I think I am the type of person who cannot find interest in actions without a purpose. Buying a bicycle with a basket and filling it with one item each day as I go in and out is quite fun for me. I also feel that I have had a productive workout today. Riding through the wind helps me release stress, and I believe I am in a state where I can manage not only my physical health but also my mental health. So, I plan to keep riding my bike regularly. For those of you who exercise for health like me, riding a bicycle is truly very beneficial for your health. Now that the gentle spring breeze is passing and summer is approaching, don’t just stay at home—let’s ride bikes outdoors, go to the park, and exercise. Put on your headphones, listen to music, and enjoy the ride.
