"Decided to go on a diet after husband left"... 40s woman loses 38kg, what are the 'two' key methods?A woman in her 40s in the UK shared her story of losing approximately 38kg to improve her health after losing her husband.

 

Lock-in syndrome experienced by the husband refers to a state where the individual is conscious but unable to respond to external stimuli due to paralysis of the entire body. Communication with the outside world is virtually impossible, and without assistance from others, the person is forced to live confined in a room for the rest of their life. It primarily occurs when brain damage occurs.

 

Stephanie Barber felt intense pressure to prepare for her dying husband and the exhaustion of caring for three children. She also had to look after her children as their mother. She said, "The situation was very chaotic, and I was under a lot of stress," and "There was almost no time for myself."

 

He also said, "It's difficult to have a healthy meal, so I settled for sandwiches or snacks," and "My weight started to gradually increase."

In the end, her husband left, and Stephanie Barber told her husband at the last moment, "I will regain my health and raise the children well."

 

Having decided to become healthier from that point on, he changed his lifestyle habits through a personalized diet plan and consulting. Stephanie Baber started walking in the park. She drank 2 liters of water a day and enjoyed chicken, fish, and salads in the evening. She successfully lost a total of 6 stones (about 38 kg). ▷ Drinking Water = Water is a fundamental and important factor for successful dieting. When the body's water content is insufficient, the kidney's ability to eliminate toxins is impaired. When toxins accumulate in the body, liver function naturally declines as well, and the liver is an organ that helps metabolize proteins, carbohydrates, and fats absorbed from food. When liver function declines, metabolism problems occur, ultimately reducing the effectiveness of dieting. Drinking enough water facilitates waste elimination, improves the functions of bodily organs, and increases diet efficiency. Additionally, water itself consumes calories during digestion. Drinking water on an empty stomach fills the stomach with water, which can reduce the amount of food consumed throughout the day.

 

Walking = Walking exercise helps with weight loss. In fact, the Korea National Park Service conducted a 12-week walking program, and as a result, when participants walked an average of about 12 km more than twice a week, their average body mass index decreased by 0.23 kg/m². When you walk, sugars in the muscles and glucose in the blood are consumed as energy. Once all the sugars are used up, fat is burned as energy, leading to a reduction in fat. It is also good to try walking backwards. According to a research team from the Graduate School of Sports Science at Dankook University, energy expenditure and muscle activity when walking backwards for 30 minutes were 1.5 to 2 times higher than when walking forward.
