피부 노화ㅠㅠ 나이드는것도 서러운데 관리도 잘해야겠어요
As we age, we're more likely to develop body odor. For those who didn't experience any body odor when they were younger, the sudden change can be disconcerting. What causes this unpleasant change?
This is because as we age, a substance called 'nonenaldehyde' is produced excessively. Nonenaldehyde is a substance created when fatty acids in sebum are oxidized. It accumulates in pores and creates a musty smell. Nonenaldehyde is not produced when we are young.
Due to aging from the age of 40
▲Decrease in beneficial skin bacteria and increase in harmful bacteria
▲Skin acidification
▲It is created due to changes in lipid composition, etc.
As we age, our ability to eliminate nonenaldehyde also declines. This is because our metabolism slows, and sweat production decreases due to decreased activity and nervous system degeneration. Along with aging, consumption of alcohol and tobacco also increases nonenaldehyde production, leading to more body odor. Drinking promotes nonenaldehyde production, while smoking inhibits its breakdown. Drinking and smoking can cause not only body odor but also bad breath.
To reduce the odor caused by nonenaldehyde, lifestyle changes are essential. First, reducing intake of fatty foods is recommended. Older adults have difficulty digesting fatty foods, which leads to the accumulation of metabolic byproducts on the skin, further accelerating the production of nonenaldehyde. Underarm odor is particularly pronounced during this time.
It is recommended to wash your body thoroughly with soap or detergent and, if possible, take a bath by soaking your body in water at least twice a week. It is effective in removing oxidized substances by exfoliating the skin.
Additionally, taking walks in the sun and frequently changing your underwear are recommended. UV rays have a sterilizing effect, which helps eliminate odor. Moderate exercise also increases sweat production, which helps eliminate waste products and reduces odor.
Meanwhile, bad breath can become worse, not just because of body odor. This is because saliva production decreases with aging. Saliva plays a role in washing away food debris and bacteria from the mouth. Without enough saliva, foreign substances cannot be properly washed away, resulting in a buildup and odor. Therefore, to reduce bad breath, it's important to stimulate saliva production and keep your mouth moist.
To do this, you should drink small amounts of water frequently to moisten your mouth. When drinking water, sip slowly, making sure to moisten your entire mouth. Eating sour fruits like lemons and oranges is also beneficial. Eating sour fruits increases saliva production.

Massage under the chin or place the tip of the tongue on the inside of the lips
Oral gymnastics, which involves pressing hard in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction, is also effective.
