Drinking 500ml of water before a meal may help with weight loss.
If you drink 500 ml of water, you'll feel very full, so your meal intake will definitely decrease.
I should try it myself once.
Adequate water intake not only aids in weight loss but also helps prevent kidney stones, migraines, urinary tract infections, and low blood pressure.
Since I heard it can be helpful... please make sure to drink water frequently and regularly whenever you have a chance~
It is commonly believed that drinking plenty of water is good for health, but how much to drink and what benefits it provides are not clearly defined. However, drinking enough water can help with weight loss, low blood pressure, and migraines, and especially, a study has shown that drinking 500ml of water before meals can have a weight loss effect, which has attracted attention.
Scientists at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) systematically analyzed 18 clinical trials selected after reviewing 1,464 studies and concluded that adequate water intake may help with weight loss, prevention of kidney stones, migraines, urinary tract infections, and low blood pressure.
This research result was published on the 25th (local time) in the journal JAMA Network Open of the American Medical Association.
The most notable point in this study is that water intake influences weight loss.
The research team explained that, based on the analysis of three existing studies, drinking about 500 ml of water before a meal in adults may have a potential weight loss effect.
In one experiment (over 12 weeks to 12 months), participants who drank water with each meal lost up to twice as much weight compared to the control group who did not increase their water intake. The researchers analyzed that drinking water before meals contributed to increased satiety, thereby reducing overall food intake.
Consuming water was also highly effective in preventing kidney stones.
According to two studies related to kidney stones, increasing water intake reduces the recurrence rate of stones by approximately 50%.
It was also helpful for women with recurrent urinary tract infections. Increasing daily water intake to 1500 ml reduced the frequency of infections and lengthened the interval between infections.
The researchers hypothesized that "drinking more water may help eliminate bacteria and improve urinary tract health."
In addition, adequate water intake has been shown to help control low blood pressure, prevent migraines, and regulate blood sugar levels in diabetic patients.
Adults who frequently suffered from headaches experienced symptom improvement after just three months of drinking more water, and young adults with low blood pressure also reported that drinking more water helped alleviate their symptoms, according to the researchers. Additionally, diabetic patients who drank water before meals (an extra 1000 ml per day) showed a significant reduction in fasting blood sugar levels.
In adults with overactive bladder symptoms, a 25% reduction in fluid intake significantly decreased urinary frequency, urgency, and nocturia.
