Moon Gabi was the winner of the 2011 Miss World Bikini Competition and revealed on the OnStyle variety show "Get It Beauty" in 2018 that she is 172cm tall and weighs 45kg. When asked about her secret to her physique, she said, "My diet isn't strict; I eat the foods I want, but I do strength training for two hours every day," and she recommended "donkey kicks" as an exercise that can be done in daily life, showing herself performing donkey kicks. Let's take a closer look at Moon Gabi's body management secrets.

 

◇Strength training to increase basal metabolic rate

During a diet, strength training is essential. Building muscle through strength exercises increases basal metabolic rate, thereby enhancing the dieting effect of exercise. Basal metabolic rate refers to the amount of energy our body uses for basic metabolic functions. In other words, it is the minimum energy required for vital activities such as breathing and maintaining body temperature. The reasons for doing strength training to increase basal metabolic rate are as follows. Muscles consume a disproportionately large amount of energy to stay active and maintain bodily functions, so even at the same body weight, people with more muscle mass burn more energy. It is especially beneficial to consistently perform exercises that develop muscles in the thighs and chest areas.

 

◇ Donkey kick to strengthen the buttocks

Donkey kicks are exercises that strengthen the gluteal muscles. The gluteal muscles play an important role in our body. They connect the upper and lower body, simultaneously supporting the pelvis, thighs, and lower back, helping to keep the spine upright. When the gluteal muscles weaken, posture becomes hunched, and body balance is compromised, making it easier to fall.

 

As a result, the spine may become twisted or the bones may break. Donkey kicks are exercises that strengthen the entire gluteal muscles, and the method is as follows.

First, assume a ready position by getting on all fours.

Then, tighten your abdomen as if to make your stomach flat.

First, lift one leg up, keeping the head, shoulders, and hips aligned horizontally.

In this position, tighten your hips and lift your legs higher.

Repeat 12 to 15 times per set.

Be careful when performing a donkey kick, as twisting your waist can cause injury.
