빵 라면 이런것만 줄여도 확실히 살이 빠지긴 할것 같아요
Recently, the YouTube channel 'ChopChop' posted a video titled 'Wednesday Colleague Support vs. Friday Colleague Miju and the Hye-suk between the two women!' In the video, Miju was asked, "Are you able to resist ramen at midnight while dieting?" and she replied, "I can resist."
He said, "No matter how hungry I am or that I have no schedule the next day, I endure everything when dieting," and added, "There's only drinks in the refrigerator." In response to Miju's words, Kim Heechul also said, "I only have water at home," and "We've been living like this. Because of my job, I have no concept of not being able to endure, so even if I want to eat, I absolutely endure it," showing his agreement.
Ramen high in calories and sodium that hinders dieting
Ramen that Miju warns about is actually not good for dieting. It is high in carbohydrates and fats, has a high calorie content, and a high GI index, which quickly raises blood sugar levels. Moreover, it lacks protein and fiber, so satiety does not last long, making overeating easy.
Especially, ramen is one of the representative foods high in sodium. A single package of ramen contains about 1,600 mg of sodium, which accounts for 70-80% of the recommended daily sodium intake. An appropriate amount of sodium is essential for maintaining nerve and muscle function, but excessive intake can interfere with the body's water metabolism, leading to swelling.
Foods high in sodium increase blood pressure. When blood sodium levels are elevated, osmotic pressure causes cellular water to exit into the bloodstream, increasing blood volume. When the pressure on blood vessels increases as a result, blood pressure rises. Additionally, salty foods with high sodium content can irritate the stomach lining, potentially causing gastritis or even stomach cancer in severe cases.
Excessive sodium intake also increases the risk of obesity. Sodium has the property of trapping fat, making it difficult to lose body fat. In fact, according to a study by Dr. Graham McGregor's team at Queen Mary University of London in the UK, each 1g increase in salt intake raised the likelihood of weight gain by more than 20%.
Eating late-night snacks leads to calorie accumulation and makes it difficult to achieve restful sleep.
Eating ramen like the one Miju received as a late-night snack is even more harmful to dieting. Late-night snacks are usually consumed during the time of day when activity is at its lowest, so calories are not burned and are more likely to be stored in the body.
A research team at Brigham and Women's Hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School in the United States analyzed the effects of late-night eating on hormones in 16 overweight or obese individuals. The results showed that participants who ate late-night snacks had, on average, about 6% lower levels of appetite-suppressing hormones over 24 hours compared to the group that did not eat late-night snacks, and about 12% higher levels of appetite-stimulating hormones.
