Girl group Illit member Wonhee (17) revealed that she carries cup ramen in her bag to manage her diet.
On the 19th, a video was posted on the YouTube channel 'VOGUE KOREA' showcasing the items that the members of girl group Illit carry in their bags. Wonhee took out a Carbonara Buldak Bokkeum Myeon cup ramen from her bag.
He said, "Even if I can't eat (ramen), just carrying it around with me feels satisfying." Wonhee revealed that he started following his group member Yoona's example of carrying snacks. He said, "I used to think, 'Why do you carry it around so much when you don't eat it?' But now I understand." Yoona agreed, saying, "It's really helpful when managing my diet." What effect does Wonhee's carrying around ramen but not eating it actually have on his health?
First, refined carbohydrates like ramen are not good for dieting. Refined carbohydrates have short-chain sugar molecules, so they quickly convert to glucose in the body. To control the sudden rise in blood sugar, insulin is secreted in excess. If insulin rapidly lowers blood sugar, the body feels hungry again, potentially leading to overeating.
Refined carbohydrates are also bad for your skin. Consuming refined carbohydrates stimulates the body's ability to metabolize glucose. This increases IGF-1, a hormone that causes skin inflammation and can lead to acne and folliculitis.
Meanwhile, the sodium in ramen can cause swelling. Our blood is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and liquid plasma. Plasma flows through our blood vessels, transporting hormones and waste products throughout the body. When we eat high-sodium ramen at night, the plasma transfers a large amount of sodium to our cells. This causes osmosis, which causes cells to retain water. When water that should be circulating in the blood vessels is trapped in the cells, a type of edema forms. The face, with its numerous capillaries, is particularly prone to swelling.
Sodium is also a cause of high blood pressure. The large cup of Carbonara Buldak Bokkeum Myeon shown in the video contains 1,190 mg of sodium. Since bibim ramen is broth-free, it's highly likely that people will consume all of it. The recommended daily sodium intake is 2,000 mg, and eating just one cup of ramen would exceed half of that amount. Excessive sodium intake increases osmotic pressure within the blood vessels. This increases blood volume, dilating blood vessels. This increases intravascular pressure, which can lead to high blood pressure. In fact, a study published in the Journal of the Korean Nutrition Society analyzed the risk of high blood pressure in women who consumed a lot of noodles, such as ramen and udon. Women who ate noodles more than five times a week had a 2.3 times greater risk of developing high blood pressure compared to those who did not eat noodles at all.

Ramen tastes good no matter when you eat it.
I'm satisfied with just taking care of it.
Is this the effect of self-hypnosis?
