As the dry spring arrives, more people are paying close attention to moisturizing. Dr. Mamina Tureano, a dermatologist in the United States, stated that the shower process significantly affects skin health. The four methods he introduces for maintaining moist skin are as follows.

 

▶Do not shower for a long time = Dr. Turegano explained that taking long showers is actually not good for the skin. He said, "You should especially avoid showering with hot water," and "It is best to shower with lukewarm water to maintain skin moisture." Prolonged showers with hot water can damage even the cell barrier on the skin surface. Therefore, if you want to keep your skin moisturized, it is better to shower quickly using lukewarm water.

▶Not showering frequently = One of the secrets to keeping skin clean, showering can paradoxically dehydrate the skin. Frequent showers weaken the skin barrier. Many people think that not showering often can be harmful not only to the skin but also to health, but this is not true. In fact, a study conducted by Harvard Medical School in 2021 found that there was no significant difference in health between people who showered daily and those who showered 3-4 times a week.

 

▶Using less soap = Using too much soap can disrupt the skin's immune system. The beneficial bacteria living on the skin's surface also help block external bacteria from invading through the skin. If these good bacteria are eliminated, the skin's immunity can be compromised. When immunity is weakened in this way, there is a higher risk of losing not only skin moisture but also nutrients.

 

▶Apply moisture cream immediately = After showering, you should apply a moisture replenishing cream right away to lock in skin moisture. Applying moisture cream on dry skin only serves to create a moisture barrier. However, if you apply moisture cream on skin that still has water, you can lock in not only the moisture barrier but also the water on the skin surface. Additionally, Dr. Turegano emphasized that the formulation of the product is important when choosing a moisture cream. He explained that a cream with a thicker texture is more effective for skin hydration than a lightweight lotion.

     추운날되면 뜨거운 물에 샤워 하는거 좋아하는데
