Just avoiding this food... live 3 to 10 years longer
A study has shown that reducing sugar and processed meat intake can help you live 3 to 10 years longer.
It is estimated that over 75,000 people in the UK die prematurely each year due to unhealthy diets. Reducing mortality through food choices is considered essential to achieving the UK's goal of decreasing premature deaths from non-communicable diseases by approximately 30% by 2030. To this end, the UK Public Health England (PHE) recommends following the 'Eatwell Guide' for a healthy diet.
The Itwell Guide recommends limiting the intake of red meat and processed meat to less than 70 grams per day. Instead, it encourages the consumption of alternative proteins such as beans and fish. In simple terms, it advocates a plant-based diet while emphasizing the importance of abundant intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and suggests avoiding foods high in fat, salt, and sugar as much as possible.
A joint research team from the University of Glasgow and Newcastle University in the UK, and the University of Bergen in Norway, conducted a study to explore how changes in dietary intake can increase life expectancy across various age groups. First, they hypothesized that following the Itwell Guide would extend life expectancy at different stages of life. Then, they classified 467,354 individuals registered with the UK Biobank into five groups based on how well they adhered to the Itwell Guide, and subsequently tracked their life expectancy.
As a result, it was found that a 40-year-old can expect to live about 3 years longer on average if they improve their eating habits to best adhere to the Eat Well Guide. It was also confirmed that the group that most poorly adheres to the Eat Well Guide can live about 10 years longer if they change to the most compliant side.
The lifespan extension effect of improving eating habits was the same regardless of age. It was confirmed that if a 70-year-old, who is the least compliant with the Iwell Guide, improves their eating habits to be more compliant, their average lifespan increases by about 3 to 4 years.
Professor Lars Padnes, the author of the study, stated, "The factor that most significantly improves life expectancy is estimated to be consuming less sugar-sweetened beverages and processed meats, and eating more whole grains and nuts," and added, "Exercising or supplementing with deficient nutrients is also important, but eating nutritious foods well is equally crucial."

There is no diabetes, but
Sugar?
I'm a bit inclined to eat sweet things.
If you give this, will it extend sleep by 3-10 years?
It's better to reduce it a bit.
