물 마신다고 피부가 좋아지는건 아니라도 하더라고요 그냥 노폐물만 배출되나봐요
I drank a lot of water to keep my skin hydrated, but my skin remains the same, and I find myself running to the bathroom more frequently. It's not just my imagination that's not working. If your body is already well-hydrated, drinking more water won't make your skin hydrated.
. ◇Drinking water alone won't make your skin more moisturized.
It's true that drinking water is related to skin health. When the body is dehydrated, blood volume decreases, hindering the smooth flow of blood to the skin and other parts of the body. This disrupts the lipid layer, which serves as the skin's protective barrier, causing moisture loss. Drinking water to replenish moisture in these situations improves skin condition.
However, it's difficult to say that drinking more water will consistently moisturize your skin. This is especially true for people who already have sufficient water in their bodies. Drinking water isn't just concentrated on the skin. Dr. Caroline Jacob, director of plastic surgery and dermatology at the Chicago Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Clinic, said, "When you drink water, it's delivered first to organs that require more water than the skin, like the kidneys and brain." In fact, a German study that reviewed 216 studies analyzing the effect of water intake on skin hydration found insufficient evidence to support the claim that drinking more water leads to more hydration.
◇If you're dehydrated, you need to replenish water, but the key is moisturizer.
People who are dehydrated need to drink more water. Dehydration reduces the amount of blood circulating in the body, which impairs the function of hyaluronic acid, which maintains skin moisture and elasticity, leading to dullness. This loss of elasticity can also lead to an increase in wrinkles. Increasing water intake can improve overall skin condition, including moisture and elasticity. A good indicator of dehydration is pinching the back of your hand. Pinch the skin between your thumb and index finger for five seconds and time the time it takes for it to return to its original position. If the stretched skin doesn't return to its original position within two seconds, it could be dehydration, leading to a loss of elasticity. A dry mouth or frequent dark urine are also signs of dehydration.
If your body isn't dehydrated, applying moisturizer regularly is crucial. This can be achieved by using a combination of moisturizers that attract moisture to the skin and products that form a skin barrier. Hyaluronic acid is a prime example of a moisture-attracting ingredient, while petroleum jelly and lanolin are good barrier-forming ingredients. After washing your face, apply moisturizer and barrier-forming products in sequence while your skin is still slightly damp.
