As the college entrance exam approaches, the demand for 'Cheongshimhwam' to alleviate tension and trembling is increasing, but it has been advised to consult with a professional before taking it to reduce side effects.

 

Recently, according to the Korea Medical Association of Traditional Korean Medicine, examinees who blindly purchase and take remedies such as 'Uhwang Cheongsimhwan' or 'Cheonwang Bosimdang' to relieve tension before the college entrance exam or on the day of the exam may actually impair their performance due to side effects like drowsiness.

 

Uwhang Cheongsimwan, commonly called Cheongsimwan, is a herbal medicine recommended for students as it helps to relax tension and improve stress-related headaches. Cheonwang Bo Sim Dan is also used to improve symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia and is recommended to students for its calming effects.

However, taking it recklessly without an accurate diagnosis can cause side effects. The Korean Medicine Association stated, "Taking Cheongshimwan without tension or hyperactivity may actually cause drowsiness or decreased concentration," and "Cheonwangbosimdan also has side effects such as diarrhea or dizziness, so special caution should be exercised when taking it before the college entrance exam."

 

Gongjindan is the same. Gongjindan is an herbal medicine known for its ability to improve learning ability and strengthen immunity. It can help with long hours of studying, but misuse may cause side effects such as heightened nervousness or a pounding heart, so caution is advised.

 

The Korean Medicine Association stated, "Herbal medicines like Cheongsimhwahan or Gongjindan are relatively familiar, so students preparing for exams sometimes take them without paying attention, on the day before or the day of the exam. However, if taken without considering individual constitution or dosage, it could actually cause side effects."

He also said, "It is effective to take it starting 1 to 2 weeks before the college entrance exam date to observe physical reactions, and to take it at the appropriate time according to the diagnosis and prescription of a Korean medicine doctor."
