Leftover soju, adding this when making it increases the nutritional benefits
What do you do with the leftover alcohol after drinking?
I put beer when boiling the boiled pork.
When there was leftover soju, I used it to clean the grease stains on the floor.
I just learned that cooking brown rice with soju can improve both taste and nutrition at the same time.
I'll try making brown rice using it once.
Beer, soju, and wine leftovers can be used in this way, so it might be good to try it out sometime~
There are times when you have leftover alcohol that is awkward to leave and causes trouble. If it's too good to throw away and too difficult to drink more, there are ways to use it in everyday life. I looked into ways to utilize leftover alcohol.
◇ Leftover beer can be used when cooking fish dishes. Soaking fish that has a strong fishy smell in beer for about 5 to 10 minutes, then removing the moisture before cooking, reduces the fishy odor. When making fried fish, adding a little beer to the batter also makes it crispier.
There is also a method to make soap using leftover beer. Heat 200g of coconut oil and 150g of olive oil, then add 107g of sodium hydroxide and about 200g of beer, and bring to a boil again. Stir well with a whisk to mix the oil and beer thoroughly, and once it becomes viscous, pour it into a mold, remove bubbles, and keep warm for 24 hours. After aging for about 4 to 6 weeks, you can make soap with anti-aging effects through the yeast activity of the beer.
◇ Soju men can enhance both taste and nutrition by cooking brown rice with soju. According to research from the Rural Development Administration's National Institute of Food and Drug Research, adding two glasses of soju to the rice water when cooking brown rice makes the texture softer. Additionally, the polyphenol content, which has antioxidant properties, increases by 17%. The research team analyzed that the polyphenol compounds in brown rice are actively released by the alcohol. Since the alcohol evaporates completely during boiling, it does not affect the flavor of the rice.
Remaining soju can also be used to eliminate refrigerator odors. This is because the alcohol content in soju is effective for sterilization and odor removal. Pour soju into a spray bottle and spray it, then wipe with a scrub pad. When cleaning a frying pan, pour soju in and then wipe with a clean kitchen towel to better remove grease.
◇Remaining wine can be used as a facial pack. The polyphenol components in grapes promote cell generation, inhibit aging, and give vitality to the skin. Mix 2 tablespoons of wine, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of honey to make a thick paste, apply it evenly to the face, and after 15-20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. However, people with sensitive skin should be cautious, as the alcohol content in wine may cause side effects such as redness or swelling of the skin.
You can also make a new drink with leftover wine. By adding fruits like oranges, apples, and lemons, along with cinnamon and sugar, and simmering over low heat, you can make a simple mulled wine. During the boiling process, the alcohol evaporates, allowing even those who cannot drink alcohol to enjoy it.
