With the growing interest in health among younger generations, the importance of healthy eating habits is growing. In particular, if you don't consciously consume enough vegetables and fruits, you can easily become deficient in vitamin C, an essential nutrient. This can signal a health risk, so a balanced diet is crucial.

 

Modern people's vitamin C intake decreases every year.

 

A balanced diet should include all five essential nutrients our bodies need: protein, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and fat. Furthermore, according to the Harvard Healthy Diet, proposed by Harvard Medical School, half of each meal should consist of vegetables and fruits. However, the actual diet of Koreans deviates significantly from this standard.


 

Vitamin C deficiency leads to chronic fatigue and lethargy.

 

Vitamin C is essential for collagen synthesis. A deficiency in vitamin C inhibits collagen synthesis, weakening all tissues in the body. Blood vessels weaken, leading to bleeding, skin loses elasticity, accelerating aging, and weakening the immune system. Symptoms such as lethargy, chronic fatigue, nosebleeds, digestive problems, and depression can also occur.

Vitamin C has already been proven through numerous studies to have various effects, including promoting iron absorption, restoring stress-related vascular dysfunction, improving immunity, beautifying skin, and lowering cholesterol.
