◇Plum

It also stimulates gastrointestinal function, increases appetite, and helps prevent constipation. However, plum syrup contains a higher sugar content than expected. Excessive intake of sugar can prevent proper excretion from the body, allowing it to circulate throughout the body. During this process, sugar can act as a toxin, potentially causing toxicity. In particular, sugar is converted into fat and accumulates, making it easy to gain weight. Therefore, it is advised not to drink more than two glasses of plum syrup water per day, and when diluting other beverages, to avoid making the mixture too concentrated.

Ginger

 

The gingerol and shogaol components that give ginger its spicy taste have strong sterilizing effects against typhoid and cholera bacteria. In fact, according to research published in the Korean Journal of Food Science, the antibacterial components within ginger, gingerol and shogaol, demonstrated a sterilizing effect by reducing total bacteria. Additionally, ginger has a warm nature, making it effective in alleviating symptoms when suffering from a cold or indigestion. However, because ginger dilates blood vessels, it is advisable for people with hemorrhoids or diseases such as stomach or duodenal ulcers to avoid it. Also, those with high blood pressure or insomnia should be cautious, as consuming ginger can increase body heat and cause excitement, potentially worsening symptoms.

 

◇Licorice tea

 

Licorice tea is good to drink when experiencing symptoms such as heartburn or indigestion. According to a study published in the Journal of Australian Traditional Medicine, participants who took capsules containing licorice components showed improvement in gastrointestinal irritation symptoms and were more effective in alleviating symptoms than conventional antacids. Licorice also helps with indigestion. According to the American Journal of Security Medicine and Alternative Therapies, the group taking licorice extract experienced an 11% reduction in functional dyspepsia. In addition to licorice tea, peppermint and chamomile teas are also helpful for indigestion. Peppermint helps relieve abdominal bloating, and chamomile is good for alleviating stomach upset and abdominal pain.
