Supplements: If you take them together like this... Waste of money, things that are useless to take

Supplements 'like this' when taken together... just wasting money, things that are useless to take

Vitamins and supplements fill the nutritional gaps in your diet. However, simply taking large amounts indiscriminately is not beneficial. In particular, consuming certain vitamins and supplements together can cause side effects. The Indian English newspaper 'Times of India' introduced vitamins and supplements that should not be taken together.

Fat-soluble vitamins and water-soluble vitamins

Fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin D are dissolved in fat and are best absorbed when taken with food. In contrast, water-soluble vitamins such as vitamin C and B12 dissolve in water and are generally more effectively absorbed on an empty stomach. Therefore, taking fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins together can interfere with the absorption process and reduce their effectiveness.

Calcium and iron

Taking calcium and iron together can hinder calcium's absorption, reducing their effectiveness. To maximize the benefits of both supplements, it is recommended to take them at least 2 hours apart. An easy way to remember is to take one in the morning and one in the evening, which is optimal for absorption.

Zinc and copper

Zinc and copper are nutrients that compete for absorption in the body. Therefore, taking them together may reduce their effectiveness. To prevent this, choose a supplement that provides a balanced ratio of zinc to copper or take them at staggered intervals, spacing the intake by at least 2 hours.

Magnesium and Calcium

Magnesium and calcium are both essential for bone health and muscle function, but taking them together can interfere with each other's absorption. To avoid this interference, it is recommended to take magnesium and calcium supplements at different times of the day.

Vitamin C and Vitamin B12

Excessive intake of vitamin C can interfere with the absorption and metabolism of vitamin B12. To optimize the use of these nutrients, it is recommended to take them separately or to maintain at least a 2-hour interval between intake.

맞아요 너무 많은 영양제는 상충되는 성분이 쌓여 과용으로 오히려 건강에 해가 되는 역효과가 생긴다고 의사들도 그러더라고요~ 적당히 한 두어개가 좋을 듯
