It looks neat, but... if you make the bed like this, bacteria will thrive. Many people neatly spread and tidy up their blankets after waking up in the morning. However, even if it looks tidy, it is not good for hygiene. Let's take a closer look at the reasons.

Blankets are easy for dust mites and bacteria to breed during sleep.

During sleep at night, not only do dead skin cells fall off from the body, but sweat also causes moisture to accumulate inside the bedding. As a result, the inside of the bedding becomes dark and damp, creating an environment conducive to the proliferation of dust mites and bacteria. Even just 1 gram of dust can support the reproduction of millions of dust mites, and since sweat and skin flakes tend to accumulate in bedding, it becomes an environment more attractive to mites. Sweat, skin flakes, skin oils, and saliva promote bacterial growth in bedding, cause unpleasant odors, and can negatively affect health. People allergic to house dust mites may experience persistent runny nose and sneezing when lying in bed. Those with sensitive skin may develop skin troubles.

However, if you wake up in the morning and spread out the blanket as it is to tidy up, dead skin cells, dandruff, and the moisture trapped by sweat remain, and dust mites inside the blanket are invisible to the naked eye.

▲Dry cough ▲Itchy skin ▲Red, itchy eyes are signs of a high number of mites. Mites can worsen allergies, asthma, and other conditions. In fact, a study from Yonsei University's Allergy Research Institute indicates that dust mite allergens from dead mite bodies or excretions can trigger various allergies.

◇You need to shake out the bedding, fold it, and place it on one side.

Therefore, to maintain bedding hygiene, it is better to shake out and fold the blanket and place it on one side rather than spreading and tidying it immediately after waking up in the morning. This not only increases the surface area for moisture evaporation but also allows for sterilization if sunlight enters the room.

Meanwhile, it is recommended to wash blankets at least once every two weeks. Especially for those who have allergies or sleep without clothes, more frequent washing is necessary. After washing, it is good to dry and sterilize them in the sunlight. If the blanket is bulky and difficult to wash frequently, occasionally airing it in the sun and knocking it to remove dust is helpful. House dust mites are sensitive to impact, and knocking the blanket can remove about 70% of them.

.......

We learned how to make our bed and tidy up the blankets every day after waking up.

Fortunately, thanks to my tidy husband and child, I do laundry once a week and sterilize them in the dryer.

They are doing it.

It's easy to overlook, but review and utilize the information.

Look.
