Steamed whole squid with a rich and savory flavor
I generally like squid, but it's hard to make whole steamed squid easily. However, with the discount coupon from the Korea Seafood Festival on Cash Deal, I can order it cheaply, and I bought some very savory squid. This is already the third time I've cooked it.
The size is a bit small, but the inside is fresh, plump, and packed full, so it's very delicious. Since it's a quick-frozen squid, it's best to thaw it in the refrigerator for half a day. After that, soaking it in water for about an hour to remove the saltiness makes the flavor just right.
I poured only 1/3 cup of water into the pan, added a little butter and whole garlic, covered with a lid, and steamed it until cooked.
When the squid turns red, flip it once, and when all the water has evaporated, it's fully cooked.
The whole squid stew is very affordable and super easy to cook, and it's so savory and delicious that I completely fell in love with it.
