August 2nd (Friday) "Does perilla leaf also lose weight?" 5 health benefits!!

1. Prevention of food poisoning during summer

The distinctive aroma of perilla leaves comes from an essential oil component called perill keton. This essential oil component acts as a preservative and helps prevent food poisoning through its antimicrobial properties. It is a food that pairs well with raw fish or meat.

2. Diet

The ingredient called Perril Ketone mentioned earlier has the effect of suppressing appetite. In addition, it adsorbs obesity bacteria and cholesterol, helping to eliminate them from the body. Therefore, it is highly effective in preventing cardiovascular diseases such as arteriosclerosis and dyslipidemia caused by narrowing blood vessels. Since ancient times, wrapping meat with perilla leaves has been considered a very healthy choice.

3. Osteoporosis prevention

Perilla leaves are a vegetable that is very good for bone health. This is due to their calcium content. 100g of perilla leaves contains 296mg of calcium, which is about seven times more than spinach (42mg), a vegetable known for its high calcium content. Perilla leaves are rich in vitamin K, which is an essential nutrient that inhibits calcium from leaching out of bones and helps in bone development. To better absorb vitamin K, it is recommended to lightly heat the perilla leaves before consumption.

4. Promotion of eye health

Perilla leaves contain a large amount of beta-carotene as well. There are 7.565 mg of beta-carotene per 100g of perilla leaves, which is about 1.4 times more than carrots (5.516 mg), known for their effectiveness in eye health. Beta-carotene is a precursor to vitamin A, acts as an antioxidant, and is a nutrient that helps prevent cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.

5. Antioxidant action

The abundant vitamin C in perilla leaves is a very powerful antioxidant. It helps prevent cell damage and strengthen the immune system. Additionally, vitamin C facilitates white blood cell activity and helps reduce viral infections. However, vitamin C is an unstable compound and is easily destroyed during cooking. To intake vitamin C, it is best to consume it raw whenever possible.
