Is allergic conjunctivitis also hereditary?

My allergic conjunctivitis is very severe.

During spring and fall, my eyes itch so badly that I can't live without medication.

But our two daughters are the same too.

When the three of us go to the ophthalmology clinic together, we each receive three of the same medication.

I'm curious whether this is simply caused by poor environment or if it's genetic.

And I wonder if allergic conjunctivitis, like mine, is a common condition among others as well.
