(Concern) Should I undergo surgery for enlarged tonsils?

There is pterygium, a condition caused by the proliferation of fibrous vascular tissue in both of my husband's eyes.

It was so old that I didn't even know when it was formed and was small in size, but as time went on, it gradually grew and came close to the pupil.

I went to the ophthalmologist for a check-up and was told there was no discomfort severe enough to require surgery, but I feel a foreign body sensation, itching, and irritation, so I'm wondering if I should consider having surgery.

There is a high possibility of recurrence even after surgery. What should I do?
