(Hint) Protect your eyes and preserve your vision!
At first, I just heard that lutein is good for the eyes and started taking only lutein, and I think it's been about two years now.
But after watching a video on SNS where a pharmacist introduces supplements, I think lutein helps prevent further deterioration of eyesight.
It's about giving, and they say it doesn't help improve eyesight... After that, I realized I shouldn't just take lutein, so I researched many eye-friendly foods, eye exercises, and lifestyle habits, and I would like to share some effective tips.
Foods good for the eyes
1. Blueberries - I believe everyone knows that blueberries are good for the eyes. Consistently eating them seems to have a beneficial effect. Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins, which are powerful antioxidants. These compounds help improve blood circulation in the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, making them good for eye health.
2. Carrots, which are rich in vitamin A beneficial for the eyes, also contain plenty of beta-carotene, which is said to be good for improving vision.
Beta-carotene is abundant in carrot skins, so it's good to eat them with the skin on, and cooking them doubles the effectiveness.
So I often cook with carrots the most when making curry or stir-fried vegetables, and I eat them frequently~
3. Spinach, which contains a high amount of lutein, is said to help prevent deterioration of eye health caused by ultraviolet rays. Since lutein is no longer produced in the body after the age of 25, it is recommended to consume it through foods like spinach and broccoli! That's why I always eat seasoned spinach as a side dish to ensure I get enough spinach intake.
Eye exercises to improve vision
- Rotational movement - slowly rotate the eyeball clockwise five times. Repeat in the counterclockwise direction as well.
- Acupressure massage - Gently press on the area above the eyes with your fingers for about 2 seconds. Repeat approximately 10 times.
- Up, down, left, and right exercises - slowly tilt your eyes downward. Move to the limit you can go, hold for 5 seconds, then slowly move upward and hold for 5 seconds. Do the same to the left and right. Repeat this about 10 times.
There are many foods and fruits that are good for other eyes as well, but I choose and eat foods that I can take care of well and eat frequently. Although I can't restore my eyesight once it has deteriorated,
I think it's important to prevent things from getting worse.
Lifestyle habits are also important. I avoid behaviors that harm my eyesight, such as turning off the lights at night, not watching TV or using my phone, wearing blue light blocking glasses when using the computer for a long time, and not rubbing my eyes.
Currently, I am maintaining my vision while gradually improving it by consuming nutrients good for the eyes, regularly massaging my eyes before bed, and doing eye exercises. I feel like my eyes are becoming clearer! It's the era of living to 100, so let's make a steady effort to protect our eye health~~
