Conjunctivitis treatment review

After visiting Waterpark, about 2-3 days later, my son's eyes gradually became bloodshot. Along with the redness, he kept getting eye discharge. After wiping his eyes, a little while later, he kept getting more discharge in the front of his right eye and said it was itchy. He said it was uncomfortable because of the itching and the constant eye discharge, and he also mentioned pain. Since it was Saturday evening, I first went to the pharmacy to buy saline solution, eye drops, and an eye patch. Over the weekend, I applied the eye drops and gave him ice compresses. Then, on Monday, we visited an ophthalmology clinic. After describing the symptoms and having an eye examination, they diagnosed conjunctivitis. There are infectious conjunctivitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and viral conjunctivitis, but currently, it is not possible to determine which type it is.

However, when it is viral conjunctivitis, even if you get a prescription, it may not improve immediately within 2 or 3 days and could last for about two weeks. For allergic conjunctivitis, applying eye drops can help improve the condition.

Fortunately, my son improved a lot after applying ice packs and using eye drops for a couple of days.

Since conjunctivitis can be contagious, I avoided towels, soap, and other items that the child might come into contact with as much as possible. Fortunately, no one in the family was infected.

I was told to wear an eye patch as a protective measure in case it could spread to other family members, but I heard that wearing an eye patch isn't good for recovery. There's discharge from my eye, and I'm covering it with gauze and keeping it moist.

So, when I was at home, I only used eye drops and didn't wear an eye patch. I think the eye patch should only be used when going out or when it's absolutely necessary.

I was worried because if it was a contagious virus, the symptoms could last a long time, but it was conjunctivitis, which was uncomfortable and painful, and I was relieved that I could recover quickly with prescribed medication.

My eyes are itchy, and I keep getting eye crusts, so I wiped and touched them, and now my eyes are red.

After applying eye drops, my condition has greatly improved. Originally, my eyes had sticky, crusty eye discharge.
