I have suffered from severe dry eye and have received various treatments.

Because the eyes are dry, the meibomian glands and tear ducts become blocked, causing oily eyelids to form, and because tears are not draining properly, tears accumulate in the eyes and flow out, causing epiphora.

At first, I received a probe treatment to open the tear ducts, but it seemed to get better for a while, but after the treatment was over, it went back to how it was before. When I got a second checkup, my dry eye score was still high.

Next, the full-scale IPL laser treatment began. The treatment time was shorter than expected and there was almost no pain!

At first, I was scared of getting laser treatment on my eyes, but IPL laser treatment is not aimed directly at the eye, but rather at the eye while wearing an eye shield, so it was less scary.

After the IPL laser treatment, you will receive another eye massage, but this time, instead of a hot compress, you will receive a cold compress for 10 minutes.

 

After the massage, we moved to the examination room, where the director personally pressed on my anesthetized eyelids to squeeze out the blocked oil glands.

At first, yellow oil came out, but gradually the oil decreased and now white, clear water came out!

 

When I checked for dryness, the numbers improved a lot.

The redder it is, the worse it is, and the greener it is, the better it is.

 

After treatment, you can use artificial tears and opaque eye drops.

 

I was told that there might be some congestion, fever, and some pain, but I only had some congestion and fever, and no pain.

There was no major disruption to my daily life, and although my vision may have felt blurry, I had almost no discomfort.
