A review of improving hemorrhoids through proper diet and lifestyle habits

I had severe constipation due to poor eating habits and irregular lifestyle, which led to hemorrhoids. The skin around my anus was torn, causing wounds and intense pain every time I used the bathroom. Before the hemorrhoids became chronic and worsened, I avoided alcohol and continued to eat fiber and probiotics, gradually changing my diet and lifestyle, which improved my hemorrhoid symptoms.

The cause of hemorrhoids was due to a habit of not drinking enough water and a diet that favored meat over fruits and vegetables, which likely led to constipation. Every time I went to the bathroom, I would sit for a long time but not feel refreshed, and exerting force for a long time caused irritation around the anus, leading to skin tearing and pain. The doctor said this was a type of hemorrhoid called anal fissure, and advised avoiding alcohol and adjusting my diet as essential measures. Therefore, I started eating fruits rich in fiber and vegetable side dishes like spinach daily, and consciously drinking enough water. I aimed to drink small amounts frequently rather than large amounts at once. I also made sure to significantly reduce the time spent sitting on the toilet, which was the cause of hemorrhoids, and was careful not to strain the anus. Additionally, I established a regular bowel movement routine by consistently taking probiotics with 10 billion guaranteed beneficial bacteria, such as BioCore and Kunkeundang's Lactobacillus Probiotics, and tried to go to the bathroom at a fixed time in the morning. To treat hemorrhoids, I always ate an apple in the morning because it contains soluble dietary fiber called pectin, which is good for constipation and promotes active bowel movements. I also consumed a lot of pumpkin porridge and side dishes made from zucchini or old pumpkin, which are high in fiber, to help resolve hemorrhoids. By changing my eating and living habits this way, my hemorrhoid symptoms gradually improved.
