This is a review of the tests and treatment related to pancreatic cancer.
I am usually quite interested in pancreatic cancer.
Maybe it's because of my family history, but I was more concerned.
I would like to share my experience of visiting the hospital for pancreatic cancer-related tests and treatment.
The pancreas is a type of digestive organ located in the upper abdomen between the tip of the sternum and the navel, responsible for secreting various digestive enzymes and insulin to break down food in the intestines and regulate blood sugar levels.
The pancreas is anatomically divided into the head, body, and tail.
Among these, the pancreas is connected to the bile duct (the pathway for bile discharge), so if pancreatic cancer occurs in the pancreas, it can block the bile duct and cause jaundice symptoms.
Risk factors for pancreatic cancer include smoking, high-calorie diet, and genetic factors.
They say I need to be more careful because I have a family history.
Pancreatic cancer often shows few symptoms in the early stages, so it is frequently discovered only after some time has passed, which makes it important to pay more attention to managing pancreatic cancer.
I received a pancreatic ultrasound and blood tests after my medical consultation at the hospital.
They said there are no particular abnormalities observed in the ultrasound imaging.
And fortunately, all the blood test results were within the normal range.
However, because of family history, they said consistent management and regular check-ups are necessary.
To prevent pancreatic cancer, it is very important to avoid known risk factors in daily life.
The most important preventive measures in daily life are quitting smoking, improving diet with a focus on fruits and vegetables, maintaining regular exercise, and avoiding high-fat and high-calorie foods.
Since I have a family history, it was emphasized that regular medical check-ups and management are important.
So, I plan to diligently manage my health by getting regular check-ups once a year to prevent pancreatic cancer! :)
